Documentary Screening Meets Edgy Multi-Media Performance 

Guild Hall presents "A Thousand Thoughts: A Live Documentary with Kronos Quartet + Sam Green" on Friday, June 21, 2019, at 8 p.m.

The multi-media performance, which received rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival, represents a rare stop for the Kronos Quartet as well as for "A Thousand Thoughts" which combines a documentary projection with live storytelling and music. Click here to read a preview on the unusual event.

Site Specific Art Unveiled at LongHouse

LongHouse Reserve opens "Site Specific" on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 1 to 5 p.m.

The art event unveils two new site specific installations to the LongHouse Reserve grounds as well as a special performance by Joy Jan Jones at 4 p.m. New artworks joining the East Hampton museum grounds are the water-borne "Echo" by Stephen Talasnick and the interactive "Out of Sight" by Lawrence Weiner.

Artist Talk

Duck Creek Arts Center hosts an exhibiting Artist Talk by Hiroyuki Hamada in support of his solo show of paintings on Saturday, June 22, 2019, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. A jazz concert begins at 5 p.m. and features "The Jam Session's Jazz at Duck Creek" with Bill O'Connell and the Steve Slagle Band performing.

Better known for his sculpture, the exhibition presents paintings made by Hamada from 2015 to 2018 that make use of a similar visual language as his sculpture. All abstract, the works are a response to the artist's ongoing concerns about human rights and flaws in our current political structures, according to curator Jess Frost. The show remains on view through June 23, 2019.

Admission is free. Duck Creek Arts Center is located at 127 Squaw Road, East Hampton, NY 11937.

Gypsy Music Live!

Guild Hall presents The Django Festival Allstars on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at 8 p.m.

Part of their World Tour and straight from France, The Django Festival Allstars bring the music of the legendary Gypsy Jazz Guitarist Django Reinhardt into the 21st century. Their unique, high energy performance pays tribute to one of the greatest guitar players of all time. Reinhardt’s driving, swinging style of “hot jazz” sizzles as masterfully played by the Allstars, who unleash their own interpretations, arrangements and original compositions with stunning virtuosity.

This internationally renowned group prominently features one of Europe’s greatest musical families: guitarist/violinist Dorado Schmitt and his two sons Samson and Amati. The band also features virtuoso violinist Pierre Blanchard and accordionist extraordinaire Ludovic Beier. In addition, on rhythm guitar, DouDou Cuillerier, who also brings the house down with his scat singing, and Francko Mehrstein. On bass, Antonio Licusati and Gino Roman.

Conversation Series with Eric Fischl Starts with Memoir

Guild Hall hosts a new conversation series with Eric Fischl. Kicking off on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at 7 p.m., "Eric Fischl; Art, Love, Life: A Conversation with Eric Fischl and Frederic Tuten" will examine Frederic Tuten's new memoir My Young Life. 

A celebrated novelist, short story writer and essayist, Frederic Tuten's memoir was released in March 2019. The book reveals a personal and artistic coming of age in New York in the fifties which brings readers on a journey from Tuten's family’s kitchen table in the Bronx to the cafes of Greenwich Village and more.

Benefit Jazz Concert

The JAM SESSION presents Evan Sherman & Friends at the Stephen Talkhouse on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 7 to 10 p.m.

The concert benefits the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreation Center. Earlier on Sunday, the group performed for the "Jazz for Jennings" benefit event in Bridgehampton, NY.
