The East End Gallery Scene is lively this week with Openings and Events from Thursday through Saturday. Be sure not to miss an exhibition of surreal glass paintings in East Hampton on Friday or a sweeping photography exhibition opening at Ashawagh Hall on Saturday with a live musical guest. The Greenport Gallery Walk takes place this Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., coinciding with a benefit exhibition and sale at The South Street Gallery. THE SOUTH STREET GALLERY - "Postcards for 88.3 WPPB" has a Preview on Thursday, June 1 from noon to 5 p.m. and Friday, June 2, 2017 from noon to 9 p.m. The Sale takes place on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 6 p.m. Participating artists were invited to create an artwork on a 5 x 7 inch surface to benefit 88.3 WPPB, Long Island's only NPR Station. ASHAWAGH HALL - "The East End Photographers Group Spring Exhibition" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 5 to 9 p.m. Musical Guest Job Potter & Friends performs at the Reception at 5:30 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through June 11, 2017. A Closing Reception takes place on Sunday, June 11 from 3 to 5 p.m.

SOUTHAMPTON ARTS CENTER - "Hand-Picked: Selections From the Buhl Collection" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through July 23, 2017. The exhibition of 111 photographs and 33 sculptures devoted to the subject of hands is curated by Henry Buhl and Ryan Russo. THE WHITE ROOM GALLERY + KARYN MANNIX CONTEMPORARY - "NeoPop2 (squared)" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through June 18, 2017 at The White Room Gallery. The show features artists who have adapted the techniques of Pop Art into their own unique contemporary styles.
The pop-up section of the show presented by Kathryn Mannix Contemporary will feature the work of three artists: Sean Sullivan aka Layercake, Angela China aka Gum Shoe, and John Stango. The White Room Gallery will present works by Laura Benjamin & Jason Poremba.
