The Parrish Art Museum opens the fourth iteration of its popular "Artists Choose Artists" on November 10, 2019 as the final exhibition of its temporary exhibition schedule. Coinciding with the opening, the permanent galleries celebrate a new series of seven shows under the umbrella exhibition "What We See, How We See." Representing a break from tradition, the permanent gallery exhibition will be on extended view until April 2021 instead of an annual presentation.

"Artists Choose Artists" celebrates artists working on the East End. Springing from an Open Call, invited master artists select two artists to present work alongside in the group exhibition where being an East End artist is a requirement. The 2019-20 edition features seven artist jurors and 14 selected artists. The exhibition is on view November 10, 2019 to February 23, 2020.

Selections were made from 300 online submissions and studio visits. The line up features:

Lucien Smith with Anne Seelbach and Mark William Wilson

Ralph Gibson with Tria  Giovan and Thomas Hoepker

Alexis Rockman with Irina Alimanestianu and Ronald Reed

Allan Wexler with Margaret Garrett and Priscilla Heine

Lillian Ball with Scott Bluedorn and Janet Culbertson

Valerie Jaudon with Janet Goleas and Bastienne Schmidt

Jill Moser with Mary Boochever and Dan Welden

“Artists Choose Artists is one of the most rewarding exhibition projects of the Parrish Art Museum,” stated Corinne Erni, Senior Curator of ArtsReach and Special Projects, who organized the exhibition. “It sparks conversations and exchanges that normally don’t happen among established and emerging artists, and the Parrish continues its commitment to be a nurturing hub for artists in our East End community.”
