Hamptons Art Hub's Call for "Art Inspired by Water" resulted in two Fine Art winners, one Fine Art Photography winner plus four Artist Honorable Mentions for Fine Art and three Honorable Mentions for Fine Art Photography. Click here to discover the winners.

Our three judges also selected their top 10 artworks from our Open Call for "Art Inspired by Water." The judges for our Spring 2016 Open Call are Museum Director and Chief Curator Christina Mossaides Strassfield of Guild Hall Museum in East Hampton, NY; Gallerist Kathryn Markel of Kathryn Markel Fine Arts in New York City and Bridgehampton, NY; and Gallerist and fine art photographer Robin Rice of Robin Rice Gallery in New York City.

Kathryn Markel judged the Fine Art Section; Robin Rice judged the Fine Art Photography Section and Christina Moissaide Strassfield judged both.

We've featured each of the judge's top artwork selections in a separate slider to create a series of four curated exhibitions. Feel free to compare and contrast the exhibitions, notice artworks and artists selected by more than one judge and select your own favorites.

Winning artworks for the Fine Art section were made by the following artists: Abby Abams, Linda Armstrong, Casey Chalem Anderson, Roz Dimon, Saskia Friedrich, Steve Haweeli, Margery Gosnell-Qua, RJT Haynes, Setha Low, Scott McIntire, Steve Miller, Daniel Pollera, Dalton Portella, Roy Staab, Ty Stroudsberg and Athos Zacharias.

Winning artworks in the Fine Art Photography section were made by the following photographers: Andrea Alkalay, Phillipe Cheng, John Haubrich, James Katsipis, Danielle Leef, Joel Lefkowitz, Jane Martin, Christine Matthai, Michael McLaughlin, Alyssa Peek, Dalton Portella, Camille Perrottet, Jeff Schultz, Jerry Schwabe, James Slezak, Janine Stanton and Christina Stow.

BASIC FACTS: Hamptons Art Hub's Open Call - "Art Inspired by Water" was our second annual art competition held to coincide with the arrival of spring. International entries were received from Bristol (England); Montreal (Canada); Buenos Aires (Argentina); and Copenhagen (Denmark). United States entries arrived from New Jersey, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Utah and New York (including New York City, Long Island and the East End of Long Island (Hamptons, North Fork, Riverhead and Shelter Island).

A heartfelt thanks is extended to our three judges who gave their time and expertise to ensure our competition received the critic examination the artwork submitted deserved. Thank you Christina Mossaides Stassfield of Guild Hall Museum; Kathryn Markel of Kathryn Markel Fine Arts and Robin Rice of Robin Rice Gallery.

Hamptons Art Hub will initiate its first fall art competition to be held in October. The theme and submission details will be announced this summer.
