There are plenty of art receiptions and events taking place in the Hamptons and East End this weekend. Guild Hall unveils its first Summer Show on Saturday and gallery receptions take place in Montauk, East Hampton, Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor and Water Mill. THE ART BARGE - “Artists Speak: Jack Lenor Larsen” takes place on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Curator and art critic Janet Goleas will be in conversation with Jack Lenor Larsen, designer and creator of LongHouse Reserve. EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS

ASHAWAGH HALL - “Resolve” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibition is on view on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The group show includes contemporary painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media. ERIC FIRESTONE GALLERY - “Kelsey Brookes: Plants of the Gods” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through July 7. The show will feature new monumental paintings based on Brookes’ scientific investigations into nature’s ancient botanical compounds. GUILD HALL - “Selfies and Portraits of the East End” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through July 26. The show features East End artists Linda Alpern, Ross Bleckner, Jack Ceglic, Fischer Cherry, Ann Chwatsky, Chuck Close, Anh Duong, Eric Fischl, Cornelia Foss, John Hardy, Soren Hope, William King, Jill Krementz, Laurie Lambrecht, Christa Maiwald, Jonathan Morse, Elizabeth Peyton, Bastienne Schmidt, Julian Schnabel, Lola Montes Schnabel, Joan Semmel, Cindy Sherman, Billy Sullivan, Susan Tepper, Robert Wilson, Darius Yektai and others, including selections from the permanent collection.

“Panel Discussion with artists from Selfies and Portraits of the East End” takes place on Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m.

“Hal Buckner” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through October 12. On view will be sculptured silhouettes of the female form cut from a single light-weight aluminum sheet.

HARPER’S BOOKS - “Jesse Harris with Star Rover” perform on Friday at 7 p.m. The band will play songs from their new album, No Wrong No Right. Harper’s Books is located at 87 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, NY 11937. www.harpersbooks.com.

LONGHOUSE RESERVE - “Planters: On + Off The Ground VII” opens on Saturday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. At 6 p.m. jurors will present ribbons to the winners of the garden container competition. GREENPORT

PECONIC LANDING - “Live in HD: Antony and Cleopatra” takes place on Sunday at 3 p.m. Geraint Wyn Davies and Yanna McIntosh star in the performance of the Shakespeare play directed by Gary Griffin and produced by the Stratford Festival Company. MONTAUK

GALLERY AT THE TERRACE - “Dalton Portella: Shark Room 2015" and Summer Solstice Party takes place on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. with live music by Dalton Portella and friends. "Shark Room 2015" is the inaugural exhibition for the new gallery. The show presents paintings, art on surfboard, and an installation focusing on the beauty of the shark. MONTAUK LIBRARY - “Jazz Concert: Tenderly” takes place on Saturday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The performance includes jazz vocalist Patti Graham, master jazz pianist Rio Clementer and guitarist and banjo player Sean Condron. RIVERHEAD

EAST END ARTS - “Novel Materials / New Techniques” has an Opening Reception on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through July 31. The juried, all media group show features artwork that was either created with nontraditional elements and/or where the artist uses a unique process or new technique. SUFFOLK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY - “Book & Bottle Lecture Series: Great Yachts of Long Island’s North Shore by Bob Mackay” takes place on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The discussion is $5, free for members. WATER MILL

PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “Screening of Marion Cajori’s Documentary on Chuck Close” takes place on Friday at 6 p.m. Admission is $10, free for members, children and students. Reservations are recommended.

“Guided Tour of the Permanent Collection” takes place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The docent-led tour features highlights from the seven permanent collection galleries. Free with museum admission. Reservations suggested.

WATER MILL MUSEUM - “Best of 30 Squared” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through July 12.
