EAST HAMPTON

HALSEY MCKAY GALLERY - "Glen Baldridge - No Way" and "Richard Tinkler - "Widening Circles" have an Opening Reception on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. Presented as concurrent solo shows, "No Way" features Baldridge's paintings that draw upon paper marbling techniques to make abstract paintings of camouflaged texts. Tinkler's "Widening Circles" presents paintings in an ongoing body of work that makes use of repetition as catalyst. It is Tinkler's first show with gallery. Both exhibitions remain on view through July 9, 2019. Halsey Mckay Gallery is located at 79 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, NY 11937. www.halseymckay.com.

SAG HARBOR

SARA NIGHTINGALE GALLERY - "Unreliable Narrators" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition features art by Barbara Friedman, Melora Griffis and Judith Simonian. Each of the artists employs narrative as a framework for expression and blur lines between abstraction and representation; fantasy and reality; fact and fiction. The question of who is the "unreliable narrator" - the artists, the subjects of the work, the artwork as a whole or the viewer - permeates the exhibition. The show remains on view through July 5, 2019.

SOUTHAMPTON

MM FINE ART - "SUSAN GROSSMAN: Recent Work" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, June 8, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition presents recent work. By using a minimal palette of black, white, and gray, punctuated by the occasional primary color, Grossman’s drawings recall classic film noir. Her landscapes combine billowy clouds and twisting roadways with a narrative sense of solitude. The show remains on view through June 16, 2019. MM Fine Art is located at 4 North Main Street Southampton, NY 11968.
