Southampton Cultural Center is pleased to offer its Fourth Annual Gala – "An Evening of Wine and Roses" on Saturday, May 25, 2019, on a private estate in Southampton Village for this year's benefit. Held from 6 to 9 p.m., the Gala supports cultural programming offered by SAC including the popular free summer Concerts in the Park Series at Agawam Park in Southampton Village; and Center Stage, live theater and the Rising Stars Piano Series, all presented in the SCC's Levitas Center for The Arts.
Proceeds from the Gala also support need-based scholarships for children, Latin Dance events, classes in art, dance, music, acting and language and more.
The first Gala began when Thomas Farrell joined the Board of Directors. The idea of reaching out to the community in the Town of Southampton seemed like the logical next step to support the growth and expansion of the Southampton Cultural Center. The SCC’s initial gala supported their capital expenditures campaign for updates to the Levitas Center, which greatly enhanced audience experience as well as performance delivery and production value.
“An average of 35,000 people attend the SCC’s programs and we are proud to be able to raise funds towards supporting our community’s culture for children and adults alike,” said Kirsten Lonnie, SCC Executive Director, a founding member and a Board Member until 2004.

For this year’s Gala, guests will be welcomed with sumptuous foods and live entertainment plus a live and silent auction beneath a fabulous tent set upon the grounds of a beautiful Southampton Village estate on Captains Neck Lane.
Live entertainment features Certain Media plus a special appearance by Christiaan Padavan, an amazing talent and local Hamptons Bays resident who competed on American Idol’s latest season.
Along with celebrating the Gala Chairs and Hosts, the 2019 Evening of Wine and Roses laurels Thomas Farrell, Barbara Kushner and new co-chairs Stan Glinka and Craig Ruhling.

The Gala’s 2019 Honorees are Dr. and Mrs. Morell Avram, long-time supporters of the Arts on the East End; Lylla Carter, long-time SCC Board Member and supporter of the musical landscape on the East End; Thomas Knight, former SCC Chairman, and Larry Strickland, long-time Educator in Languages and community advocate.
