Tanger Outlets in Riverhead is presenting the traveling Gene London’s "Golden Age of Hollywood Costume Exhibit." The exhibition opens in an invite-only reception for Tanger Members on Wednesday, March 28, 2019. The show will be on view to the public from March 29 to April 29, 2019 at the shopping outlet's Suite 1003.

The exhibition explores the changing face of fashion as interpreted by films, directors, stars and costume designers in Hollywood’s Golden Age. Costumes exhibited include those worn by Jean Harlow, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Joan Crawford, Bette Davis and many others.
Designers include Adrian, who designed costumes from MGM from 1928 to 1941, and Howard Greer, a Hollywood fashion designer and costume designers who designs were worn by Katherine Hepburn and Rita Hayworth.

Designers in the exhibition also include Austrialian-American Hollywood costume designer Orry-Kelly, who won three Academy Awards for Best Costume Design. Also, designs by Edith Head, who won eight Academy Awards for Best Costume Design from 1949 (The Heiress) to 1973 (The Sting).

Selections from the traveling exhibition has been presented in museums in the United States and Europe including the Allentown Art Museum (Allentown, PA); the Ellen Noel Art Museum (Odessa, TX) and in the Film Museum in Postdam, Germany.
Boscov's has presented the costume designs in their stores located in Erie, PA and in Meriden, CT.
