PULSE Miami Beach 2017 has announced its artist selections for the PULSE PRIZE competition as well as the list of exhibiting artists who will be presented in the CONVERSATIONS Sections of the fair's South Tent. There are 16 artists who are contenders for the PULSE PRIZE and will present their art in the SOLO Section of the art fair, held during Miami Art Week in December. The PULSE PRIZE is a jury-awarded cash grant given directly to a chosen artist during PULSE Miami Beach.

This year's jurors are Lolita Cros, Independent Curator;  Kathryn Mikesell, Founder of the Fountainhead Residency; Tommy Ralph Pace, Associate Director of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami; and Roya Sachs, Curator of Lever House Art Collection and Artistic Director of Spring Place.

Past PULSE PRIZE Winners include Thomas Broadbent of Brooklyn (2016 New York PULSE Prize) and Devan Shimoyama of Pittsburgh (2016 Miami Beach PULSE PRIZE). The PULSE PRIZE winner is announced during the art fair. At PULSE Miami Beach, the CONVERSATIONS Sections gives galleries license to stretch out, curatorial, to create new visual and conceptual dialogues between two artists in addition to their main gallery booth in the GALLERIES Section.
