The 11th Annual Bushwick Open Studios (BOS) festival unfolds this weekend and features hundreds of artist studios for the exploring. Hosted by Arts in Bushwick, BOS takes place from September 22-24, 2017 with most studios open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

BOS gets started on Friday night from 7 to 10 p.m. with Bushwick (AiB)'s annual "Seeking Space" group show at Beyond Studios NYC. The show features work by over 200 artists, according to AiB. The show continues on view through Sunday. Admission is free. A map of participating studios can be picked up at Beyond Studios NYC as well. 

Artists open their studios on Saturday and Sunday. Visit BOS's website to browse artists participating by location, medium and name through an interactive map. Click here for details. Studio hours vary so confirming specific hours is recommended, according to AiB.

In Bushwick, free maps can be picked up at nine hub sites. They include Paradice Palase, Bushwick Street Art, Graham Avenue Farmer's Market, Williamsburg Charter High School, Beyond Studios NYC, Kave Espresso Bar, Brooklyn Brush Studios, House of Yes and Starr Bar. Click here for details.

BOS presents an opportunity for visitors and those who live in Bushwick to experience first hand the vibrancy of the art community working there, offered AiB.

Galleries also abound in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn and include Victori & Mo; Black & White GallerySpace 776, ADO Project (Art During The Occupation) (former Christopher Stout Gallery); Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York; Koenig & Clinton; Luhring Augustine; Microscope Gallery; ODETTA; Theodore Art and others.

Bushwick Open Studios is presented by Arts in Bushwick, an all-volunteer and non-hierarchical organization who aims to "...provide a platform for creative minds in the community and work towards an integrated and sustainable neighborhood through arts programming, creative accessibility, and community organizing," according to its Mission Statement.

Invited artists present work in storefronts along Graham Avenue. Coordinated with Graham Avenue Business Improvement District. Closest subway is J/M/Z at Flushing Avenue. Continues all weekend.
