Art Hamptons opened its 9th edition on June 23, 2016, hosting two consecutive Opening Receptions to celebrate the return of the annual Hamptons art fair. Now under a new owner, Urban Expositions, Art Hamptons kicked off its 2016 edition with a First Look and VIP Opening Night Preview on June 23, 2016.
The First Look event benefited LongHouse Reserve and the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation. “We are very grateful to Art Hamptons for their continued support for our work,” said Samuel Waxman, M.D., Founder and CEO of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation.

Immediately following was the VIP Opening Night Preview. The mood was a jovial one as art goers milled about the air-conditioned pavilion, sipping French wine or sparkling water. Plenty of familiar faces from the Hamptons art world were seen including John Gruen, William Quigley, Julie Keyes, Janet Lehr, Arlene Bujese and many others.

Nearly 2,000 attendees attended and milled among the art exhibited in a 40,000 square foot pavilion and set on the estate grounds of Maria and Kenneth Fishel. Interest in the art abounded with some sales taking place during the openings, reported the art fair.
Art Southampton is presenting 56 exhibitors from 11 countries of mostly contemporary art.
