"Land, Sea, Sky" celebrates art inspired by direct observation of our cherished local farmlands, wildflower fields, salt marshes, and beaches in an exhibition and sale by the artists of Plein Air Peconic. Many landscapes that have been conserved by Peconic Land Trust will be included in the art on view. "Land, Sea, Sky" presents both paintings and photography inspired by the natural vistas on the East End.

Plein Air Peconic includes painters Casey Chalem Anderson, Susan D’Alessio, Aubrey Grainger, Anita Kusick, Keith Mantell, Michele Margit, Joanne Rosko and photographers Tom Steele, Kathryn Szoka. Plein Air Peconic is pleased to announce that two guest painters, Ty Stroudsburg and Gail Kern, will be exhibiting as well.

"Land, Sea, Sky: Plein Air Peconic IX" will be exhibited on Columbus Day Weekend, Oct 11 - Oct 13, at Ashawagh Hall in The Springs, East Hampton. The exhibition benefits Peconic Land Trust. Celebrate Plein Air Peconic’s  ninth year with an Evening Reception to Meet the Artists on Saturday, Oct 11, from 5 – 8 pm.

Established in 2006, Plein Air Peconic artists have a reputation for excellence and have exhibited their work widely. The artists of Plein Air Peconic donate a portion of all sales to the Peconic Land Trust. The Peconic Land Trust was established in 1983 to conserve Long Island's working farms and natural lands. Since its inception, the nonprofit Trust has worked with landowners, communities, partner organizations and local government to conserve approximately 10,000 acres of land on Long Island and protect the rural heritage and natural resources of the region. BASIC FACTS: "Land, Sea, Sky: Plein Air Peconic IX" is on view from October 11 through October 13, 2014 at Ashawagh Hall.  An Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, October 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. Proceeds of art sales benefit The Peconic Land Trust.
