The 47th annual Artists of the Springs Invitational Exhibition opened on Aug. 1 with an enthusiastic crowd interested in the art on the walls and displayed on pedestals at Ashawagh Hall. This year's show features work by over 125 artists with ties to the local community. The Invitational continues through Aug. 17, 2014.

The exhibition was curated by Sus Ferguson Gussow, a figurative painter and Professor Emerita at The Cooper Union School of Architecture. Gussow will present a Curator's Tour on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 4 to 5 p.m. and discuss some of the works on view.

Fifty percent of all artwork sales benefit the Springs Improvement Society’s Scholarship Fund. Awards are given to select graduating collegebound seniors from East Hampton High School who are from Springs, NY.
