Another busy week of art in the Hamptons! This weekend brings benefits for LongHouse Reserve, Bay Street Theatre, Art in General and a party for Guild Hall's Young Contemporaries. The Parrish opens two major exhibitions on Sunday and another art fair is headed our way. Meanwhile, the gallery scene is popping. Following is a list of the art happening in the Hamptons.

AMAGANSETT 

CRAZY MONKEY GALLERY - “Barbara Bilotta” “Sarah Blodgett” and “Mark E. Zimmerman” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Aug 5.  The gallery is located at 136 Main Street, Amagansett, NY 11930. www.thecrazymonkeygallery.com.

ILLE ARTS GALLERY - “East End Emerging Artists Exhibition” has an Opening Reception tonight (Friday) from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Tuesday. The gallery is located at 216a Main Street, Amagansett, NY 11930. www.illearts.com

KARMA - “Will Boone” and “Torey Thornton” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The gallery is located at 249 Main Street, Amagansett, NY 11930. www.karmakarma.org.

NEOTERIC FINE ART - “Sophia Collier: Light Waves” and “Peter Dayton: Surf Shop” has a second Reception and “Shindig” with live music from 7 to 10 p.m. Dayton presents an art performance as the "Surf Shrink," a twist on his "Rock and Roll Shrink".  The exhibit presents Collier’s “water” surfaces carved from acrylic block using software and Dayton’s surfboard panel paintings. BRIDGEHAMPTON

EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS 

ASHAWAGH HALL - "Plein Air Peconic: Art in the Open” opens today at 10 a.m. and remains on view through Sunday. An Opening Reception takes place on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. Participating artists include Casey Chalem Anderson, Joanne Rosko, Gordon Matheson, Susan D’Alessio, Aubrey Grainger, Kathryn Szoka, Michele Margit and Anita Kusick plus guest artists Ted Asnis and Keith Mantell. ASHAWAGH HALL - “2nd Annual Midweek Art” takes place on Wednesday, July 24, and Thursday, July 25. An Opening Reception takes place on , from noon to 9 p.m. on Wed and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thurs. Participating artists include Cynthia Loewen, John Todaro, Jerry Schwabe, Lynn Martell, Peter Spacek, and Sarah Jaffe Turnbull.

GUILD HALL - “John Alexander Talk in the John Drew Theater” takes place on Saturday from 4 to 5 p.m. The talk is part of the “Artists & Writers Speak” series in celebration of the 65th Anniversary of the Artists & Writers Game. The related exhibition remains on view through July 28. The talk is free with museum admission.

“Artists & Writers: They Played in the Game” Panel Discussion take place on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Players will discuss the history of the game. Speakers include artists Leif Hope, Eric Ernst, Ed Hollander, Walter Bernard, and Lori Singer with writers Carl Bernstein, Mort Zuckerman, Mike Lupica, and Juliet Papa. Moderating is Ed Bleier. Admission is free.

LAWRENCE FINE ART - “LA Roc: Not Keith Haring” has an Opening Reception and Fashion Show on Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. LA ROC was a street artist of the 1970s/80s and a collaborator, mentor and friend of Keith Haring. He will exhibit functional sculpture and work on canvas. The exhibition remains on view through July 28. POLLOCK-KRASNER HOUSE AND STUDY CENTER's John H. Marburger III Memorial Lecture  - "The Whitney Museum: Past, Present, and Future” will be presented by Adam D. Weinberg, the Alice Pratt Brown Director of the Whitney Museum of American Art. The lecture takes place on Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. at Guild Hall's John Drew Theater. QF GALLERY - “DNA & Dust” by Heather Dewey-Hagborg and Paul Hazelton has a Closing Reception and Artist’s Talk on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Dewey-Hagborg’s works on view include sculptural portraits made from gum, hair, and cigarettes found in public places in NYC and East Hampton. Hazelton’s works on view include sculptures made from dust inside of light bulbs. The exhibition remains on view through Sunday. SAG HARBOR

CANIO’S BOOKS - “Totems” by Peter Begley has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. Begley works in acrylic, oil, and wax on paper. The exhibition remains on view through Aug 13. The book store gallery is located at 290 Upper Main Street, Sag Harbor, NY 11963. www.caniosbooks.com.

ROMANY KRAMORIS GALLERY - “Oil Paintings of the Jordan Haerter Veteran’s Memorial Bridge” by Barbara Hadden has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The paintings of the Sag Harbor bridge are dedicated to the Wounded Warriors who participate in the annual Soldier Ride. The exhibition remains on view through Aug 8.

“Open Door: New Work by Christopher Engel” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. Engel will exhibit abstracted figures and faces, as well as patterns. LISS LARSEN’S STUDIO - “Shelter Image: Unique Glimpses of Shelter Island” Studio Sale takes place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 10% of the sales of Liss Larsen’s Shelter Island photographs benefits East End Hospice’s Camp Good Grief. SHELTER ISLAND HISTORICAL SOCIETY - “Art in the Barn Shelter Island” has an Opening Reception on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. The show is a collaboration with The Shelter Island artist collective ArtSI. WATERMILL

WATER MILL MUSEUM - “East End Photographers Group Summer Photography Exhibition” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. The East End Photographer’s Group celebrated it’s 25th Anniversary with this traditional, digital, and alternative process photography show. PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “Growing Farmers” Screening will take place tonight (Friday) at 6 p.m. The short documentary, directed by Michael Halsband, focuses on young Long Island farmers and the challenges they face. The screening will be followed by a talk with local farmers. Scheduled to appear are Michael Halsband (Director), Amanda Merrow & Katie Baldwin (Amber Waves Farm), John Halsey (Peconic Land Trust/Quail Hill Farm) and Pete Ludlow (Mecox Bay Dairy). Tickets are $10.

Curator's Tour of “Angels, Demons, and Savages: Pollock, Ossorio, Debuffet” will take place on Sunday at 11:15 a.m. The Tour will be led by curator Klaus Ottmann, Director of the Center for the Study of Modern Art and Curator at Large at The Phillips Collection. ISLIP ART MUSEUM - "NYFA 'MARK' ARTISTS" Opening Reception and performance by artist Thea Lanzisero takes place on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Exhibiting artists participated in the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) MARK program. Exhibiting artists who live or exhibit on the East End include Pamela Topham, Jennifer Gioe Peper, Anne Raymond, Doug Reina, Anne Seelbach, Joanne Dumas, Pat Hauck and others.
