This weekend is full of variety for the East End arts scene. Two student exhibitions open in East Hampton, a seminal figure in video art presents a new work collected by the Parrish, a world-ranked poet performer reads new work at Sara Nightingale Gallery and the winner of a juried show at Southampton Cultural Center opens her solo show. BRIDGEHAMPTON

PIERRE’S RESTAURANT - “Cloudscapes, Works on Paper” by Sheila Isham has an opening reception on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through March 30. Pierre's is located at 2468 Main Street, Bridgehampton, NY 11932. www.pierresbridgehampton.com

EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS 

ASHAWAGH HALL – “Super Happy Fun Time Mega Blast Youth Art Show and Experience” opens with an opening reception on Saturday from 5:30 to 10 p.m. The show continues on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibition presents works by students five to 19 years old. The opening reception includes live music by Julien Pasqual and Jet Set Renegade, made up of high school musicians from East Hampton, Westhampton Beach and Shelter Island. GUILD HALL - "21st Annual Student Art Festival, Part II: Grades 9-12" opens on Saturday with an Opening Reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Performances by students in grades nine through twelve take place in the John Drew Theater. The exhibition includes over 5,000 students from 11 participating public and private and home schools in the Amagansett, East Hampton, Montauk, Wainscott, Southampton, Bridgehampton, Shelter Island, and Sagaponack districts are invited to participate in Guild Hall’s 21st Student Art Festival and The 10th Annual Student Film Project.

RIVERHEAD

EAST END ARTS - “Origins: Annual Members’ Art Show” opens tonight (Friday) with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The non-juried exhibition remains on view through April 19. The gallery is located at 133 East Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901. www.eastendarts.org

SUFFOLK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY - “Women Under Cover: Aprons” has a “Tea and Talk” event on Tuesday (Mar 19) at 1 p.m. The public is invited to wear a favorite apron and survey the 130 aprons on display in the exhibit. The fee is $15 a person, registration is required before March 15. The exhibition remains on view through March 31.  The gallery is located at 300 West Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901.

SOUTHAMPTON

SOUTHAMPTON CULTURAL CENTER - “Solo Show by Ronnie Cramer” opened on March 11 and has an opening reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. Cramer was awarded “Best In Show” during the Southampton Cultural Center’s Juried Art Exhibition in 2012. The exhibition runs through March 27. The gallery is located at Levitas Center for the Arts, 25 Pond Lane, Southampton Village, NY 11968. www.southamptonculturalcenter.org

WATERMILL

PARRISH ART MUSEUM - The Artist View - Peter Campus discusses his digital video “Passage at Bellport Harbor” (2010) tonight at 6 p.m. The talk is sold out but a waiting list begins at 5 p.m. "Passage at Bellport Harbor" was recently acquired by the Parrish and is currently on view in the museum’s American Views gallery. The Museum is located at 279 Montauk Hwy, Water Mill, NY 11976. parrishart.org

SARA NIGHTINGALE GALLERY and THE WATERMILL CENTER - “Conversations” by Outspoken Bean takes place on Saturday at 6 p.m. Emanuelee “Outspoken” Bean, a performance poet, will perform parts of his memoir, short stories and poems that will be completed during the poet’s residence at Watermill Center. A reception will follow the performance. Exhibited in the gallery are works by Cara Enteles, Mike Solomon, Perry Burns, Brian O'Leary, Dalton Portella, Eric Dever, Malin Abrahamsson, Kia Pedersen and Yong Jo Ji.
