Parrish Perspectives: New Works in Context showcases a selection of more than 70 works from the more than 300 acquired by the Museum since the opening of the Water Mill building in 2012.

The exhibition features work on view at the Parrish for the first time by established collection artists and artists new to the collection. New Works in Context reflects the curatorial decision-making involved in the process of building a collection, and demonstrates the Museum’s commitment to bringing together works that enhance the appreciation of art and the artist’s practice.

New Works in Context also reveals the generosity of the many donors who understand the value of sharing great art with the community. Cynthia Nadelman recently gifted to the Museum a remarkable group of 15 small plaster figures by her grandfather Elie Nadelman as a tribute to curator Klaus Kertess, who had a long association with the Parrish and championed Nadelman’s work. Small works in the Parrish collection by sculptors Bill King and Costantino Nivola complement and give context to the Nadelman gift. Also on view are paintings and photographs by Jennifer Bartlett, Friedel Dzubas, Jane Freilicher, Linsday Morris, Theodore Stamos, Jane Wilson, and others.
