November 27, 2019 - January 4, 2020
Reception: December 14, 2019, 5 to 7 p.m.
Location: Long Island
fotofoto gallery's "15th Annual National Photography Competition" exhibition inspires viewers to look at subjects with new vision through a delightful array of approaches used by exhibiting artists hailing from CA, TX, NYC, MD, GA, WA, PA, Maine, NJ, MI, FL, WI and Long Island. The competition was juried by Dan Burkholder.
In a Statement, Burkholder writes "Sometimes seeing a photograph is the visual equivalent of picking the lowest hanging fruit. Successful photos orchestrate your senses — you hear, smell and taste the subject matter, making the viewing experience so much more than one engaging just your eyes. Yes, the very best images — and we can never have enough of them —make you feel what the photographer intends. (And don’t even get me started on proprioception.) In this show you’ll experience many successful photographs and, delightfully, a select group of extraordinary ones. Buckle your sensory seat belts and enjoy the show."
