Please join us for the Opening Reception of Grenning Gallery’s latest exhibition, Gems of the Grenning Gallery, Saturday, November 18th, from 4:30-6:00 at the Grenning Gallery, 17 Washington Street, Sag Harbor. This exhibition will highlight works from a motley of contemporary artists.
We’re very excited to exhibit “Tonic” by Alyssa Monks, one of the most prolific painters to come out of the New York Academy of Art in the last ten years. Alyssa’s work began to garner great attention with a series of large scale paintings of herself in the shower. Laura Grenning describes the painting as: “Cindy Sherman meets Classical Painting.” With “Tonic”, Alyssa Monks has created a thing of beauty, while pushing the boundaries on what most classical realists are doing.
Gems will also highlight works from the usual suspects: Ben Fenske, Nelson H. White, Marc Dalessio, Maryann Lucas, Stephen Bauman, and more! We’ll be selecting some of their best works from the past year, along with a variety of small works that’ll serve well as holiday gifts!
