Thanksgiving Weekend is always a fun one of the East End. Much quieter than the rest of the season, it's easier to travel around and pack fun things to do into the schedule. Following is our list of the best things to do this holiday weekend. Expect to find theater, film, an architectural-driven house tour and plenty of place to pick up unique gifts. Happy Thanksgiving!

1.  Holiday Pop-Up Shop at The Parrish

The Parrish Art Museum is hosting a pop-up holiday shop on Friday, November 29, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The shop features holiday items for the home, unique accessories, artful tabletop items, the debut of the Parrish Honey and Gift Memberships (starting at $50) to the museum. There is no admission fee for visitors to the shops, though museum members can receive a 20 percent discount off all museum gift shop merchandise during the weekend.

2.  East Hampton House & Garden Tour

The East Hampton Historical Society hosts its annual East Hampton House & Garden Tour over Thanksgiving Weekend. The event kicks off with Opening Night Cocktails at the Maidstone Club on Friday, November 29, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. with the self-guided House Tour taking place on Saturday, November 30, 2019, from 1 to 4:30 p.m.

Both the cocktail party and the house and garden tour benefit the East Hampton Historical Society. This year's tour includes five homes featuring noteworthy architectural or landscape design.

Tickets to the Cocktail Party are $200 and include the tour. Tickets to the self-guided house and garden tour are $65 in advance or $75 the day of the tour. Click here to purchase or for details. The tour check in takes place at the Clinton Academy, 151 Main Street, East Hampton, NY 11935.

3.  Film Screenings at the Parrish Art Museum

The Parrish Art Museum is screening international films for adults and children over Thanksgiving weekend: The coming-of-age surf movie "Breath," screens on Friday, November 29, 2019 at 6 p.m., along with two films from the New York International Children's Film Festival on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at 1 and 2 p.m. 

Based on the award-winning, international best-selling novel by Tim Winton,"Breath" follows two teenage boys growing up in a remote corner of the Western Australian coast. The two become friends when mysterious older surfer and adventurer encourages the boys to take risks that will have a lasting  impact on their lives.

"Kid Flicks One" presents a spirited international lineup of live-action and animated shorts by filmmakers from, Australia, Colombia, France, Guatemala, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland, and the U.S. "Viva Kid Flicks," beginning at 2 p.m., is a Spanish-language film program of animated, documentary, and live action films between 2 and 20 minutes long. The films will be shown with English subtitles.

4.  Last Chance to See "A Raisin in the Sun" at Bay Street

Bay Street Theater is showing a special performance schedule of "A Raisin in the Sun" over Thanksgiving weekend.

Guests can see the show, presented by Literature Live, on Friday, November 29, at 2 and 7 p.m.; Saturday, November 30, at 2 and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, December 1, at 2 p.m.

5.  Marder's Open House

Marder's holds its annual Open House celebration Friday to Sunday, November 29, 2019 to December 1, 2019, at its Bridgehampton nursery.

An annual tradition, Marder's Open House offers live music, a talk on honeybees, birds of prey presentations, workshops, hot cider and cookies and gift buying opportunities all weekend long. Live music takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. daily. Click here for the full schedule.

6.  Winter Fun at Hallockville Museum Farm

Hallockville Museum Farm is hosting its Holiday Folk Art and Gift Show from Friday, November 29, through Sunday, December 1, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A special early bird hour begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 29. The museum is also giving guided tours of its two historic homes, the Hallock Homestead and the Cichanowicz Farmhouse, on Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, 2019, from noon to 3 p.m.

The Folk Art and Gift Show continues during the following weekend, December 6 through December 8, 2019. The Hallockville Museum Farm is located at 6038 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, NY 11901.

7.  Handmade Pottery Sale at The Clay Art Guild

The Clay Art Guild of the Hamptons is hosting a holiday sale, featuring handmade pottery by local artisans, on Saturdays and Sundays, November 29 through December 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Bridgehampton Historical Society Archives.

8.  Landscape Design Book Talk

Canio's Books presents a book talk by Frederico Azevedo and Camille Coy on their new book Bloom: THE Luminous Landscapes of Frederico on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at 5 p.m.

Landscape Designer Frederico Azevedo of Unlimited Earth Care in Bridgehampton, NY, teamed up with writer Camille Coy to present a collection of his favorite design projects. Azevedo's designs emphasis the use of vibrant flowers in curving borders to entice the eye to travel along the landscape.

9.  Garden Talk at Madoo Conservancy

The Madoo Conservancy is hosting "Umberto Pasti, Eden Revisited: A Garden In Northern Morocco," a lecture and book signing, on Sunday, December 1, 2019, from noon to 2 p.m.

Italian writer and horticulturist Umberto Pasti will discuss his world-famous garden, Rohuna, set on a stony hillside high above the Atlantic ocean south of Tangier that is the subject of his latest book, "Eden Revisited." Pasti's passion for the wild flora of Tangier and its surrounding region led him to create Rohuna, where he has transplanted thousands of plants rescued from Moroccan construction sites.
