It's the first weekend in October....can you believe it? The Hamptons continues to offer plenty of things to do with an art and culture twist. Expect film, live music, an art celebration and the opening of the first Parrish Road Show. Read on to discover our picks for the best things to attend this weekend in The Hamptons. All take place through October 6, 2019.

1.  Piano Bar Night Returns 

The Southampton Arts Center begins another season of its Piano Bar Night on Friday, October 4, 2019, from 5 to 9 p.m.

"Jobs Pub: Don’t Tell Marie Her Duplex is in Crisis" includes a performance of cabaret classics by pianist-in-residence Jim Merillat, as well as complimentary drinks and snacks. Additional Piano Bar Nights this season take place November 1 and December 6, 2019.

2.  "The Lehman Trilogy" Comes to Guild Hall

A live screening of the play "The Lehman Trilogy," performed in London, will be shown at Guild Hall as part of its National Theater Live program on Friday, October 4, 2019, at 7 p.m.

"The Lehman Trilogy" takes place in 1844 and tells the story of three brothers from Bavaria who, searching for success in America, establish The Lehman Brothers, an investment firm that then collapses into bankruptcy and triggers the largest financial crisis in history 163 years later. The five-time Olivier Award nominated play is written by Stefano Massini, adapted by Ben Power, directed by Sam Mendes, and stars Simon Russell Beale, Adam Godley and Ben Miles. The play will be broadcast live from London's West End.

3.  Judy Carmichael at Bay Street Theater

Bay Street Theater presents a performance by Grammy nominee Judy Carmichael on Friday, October 4, 2019, at 8 p.m.

Carmichael will present an evening of jazz ballads and classics alongside guitarist Chris Flory, clarinetist/saxophonist Dan Block and bassist George DeLancey.

4.  Family Day At Guild Hall

Guild Hall is hosting a family-friendly afternoon of workshops, performances, and gallery tours to celebrate its exhibit "ugo rondinone: sunny days," on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 1 to 3 p.m. 

The day includes workshops led by local artists and performances by student ensembles as well as a visit from Ugo Rondinone to celebrate and congratulate the over 300 students whose artwork is displayed in sun-themed the exhibition.

Admission is free and reservations are not required. Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street, East Hampton, NY 11937.

5.  Laurie Lambrecht Road Show Exhibition At Madoo Conservancy 

The Parrish Art Museum is hosting an opening reception for its eighth annual Parrish Road Show  with this year's artist-in-residence Laurie Lambrecht on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 3 to 5 p.m. 

Bridgehampton native Laurie Lambrecht works with photography and fiber, and has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad. In her exhibition "Limn to Limb," Lambrecht will respond to Madoo’s trees, shrubs, and structures with works that include photography, printmaking, weaving, and knitting.

The Opening Reception is free and open to the public. The Madoo Conservancy is located at 618 Sagg Main Street, Sagaponack, NY 11962.
