The Parrish Art Museum's summer benefit is always a popular ticket. This year was no exception with over $1 million raised for museum programming at the 2019 Midsummer Party on July 13, 2019 held at the museum. Hosted by Parrish Art Museum Director Terrie Sultan, the benefit honored long-time supporters Louise and Leonard Riggio and artist Maya Lin and drew around 450 people who sipped cocktails, perused the exhibitions on view and then dined and danced the evening away.
The decor was designed by Ron Wendt Design and late night music provided by DJ Alice Longyu Gao. The evening included a live auction offering exclusive events and was moderated by Benjamin Doller and Lisa Dennison. The benefit itself was co-chaired by Deborah F. Bancroft; Preston T. Phillips and hosted by Mary and Howard S. Frank, Laura Lofaro Freeman and James L. Freeman, Chad A. Leat, Denise LeFrak, Christina and Alan MacDonald, Sandy and Stephen Perlbinder, Robin and Frederic M. Seegal, Marcia Dunn Sobel, and Joey Wölffer. The Late Night Party was chaired by Larry Milstein.
Guest attending including art professionals, artists, architects, celebrities and collectors. Attendees from the creative fields included actor Matt Dillon, Milly and Arne Glimcher and Douglas Baxter from Pace Gallery, author Carl Bernstein, Adam Weinberg from the Whitney Museum of American Art, fashion model Polina Assoun, theater producers Bonnie Comley and Stewart F. Lane, Robert Wilson of Watermill Center and others.
Artists attending included Renate Aller, Alice Aycock, Adam Bartos, Ross Bleckner, Michael Combs, Audrey Flack, Eric Freeman, Eric Fischl, April Gornik, Mary Heilmann, Bryan Hunt, Mel Kendrick, Dorothea Rockburne, Toni Ross, Billy Sullivan, John Torreano, Allen Wexler, Joe Zucker and others.
Art collectors and philanthropists were many and included Dorie and Ken Berliner; Regina Glocker; Alexandra Munroe and Robert Rosenkranz; Dushy and Roman Roth; Jean and Martin Shafiroffl Fern and Lenard Tessler and others.
