All of the action in the East End gallery scene happens on Saturday. Expect to find artist talks and demonstrations, new show receptions and even a film screening. All events take place through May 12, 2019 and are set in The Hamptons or on the North Fork.

HARPER'S BOOKS - "Ryan McGinness: Mother & Child" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibition presents the first public presentation of McGinness's "Mother & Child" Series with the show including recent paintings, drawings, monoprints and a single cyanotype. The artist is expected to attend the opening. The show continues on view through June 13, 2019. Harper's Books is located at 87 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, NY 11937.
JANET LEHR FINE ARTS - Reception and Exhibiting Artist Demonstration by Haim Mizrahi will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in celebration of his solo show "Haim Mizrahi - The New in Dynamic Abstraction." Of his action painting methods, the artist says "The paint travels on its own behalf! I am a spectator, the hands on a spectator." WILLIAM RIS GALLERY - "Artist Talk" with Exhibiting Photographer Takashi Matsuzaki on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 1 to 3 p.m. reveals the inspiration and story behind the creation of his collection "Dream of Roses," which current debuts at the North Fork Gallery. Dedicated to his mother, the work reveals the beauty, sensuality and depth of the rose. Matszuki will also discuss his career in fashion, photography, his travels and his technique for capturing the essence of his favorite flower. The exhibition remains on view through May 19, 2019. SAG HARBOR
KEYES GALLERY - "Saturday Night at the Movies" screens "Soufra" on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 8 pm. A Q&A with the producer Kathleen Glynn immediately follows. The documentary follows social entrepreneur Mariam Shaar--a generational refugee who has spent her entire life in the Burj El Barajneh refugee camp south of Beirut, Lebanon--as she launches the catering company "Soufra" and then sees it grow by tapping fellow refugee women to move into include a food truck business. SAG HARBOR WHALING & HISTORICAL MUSEUM - "OUR TOWN: Sag Harbor in Focus" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m. The group show presents photography by students at Pierson High School in Sag Harbor and is juried by photographer Ralph Gibson.
