The Hamptons gallery scene is a vibrant one this weekend with art receptions and events taking place in Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton and East Hampton as well as in Bellport, on the western edge of the Eastern Long Island. Expect to find solo shows and themed group shows opening through May 5, 2019.

THE WHITE ROOM GALLERY - "Retro" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. The group show presents art that evokes nostalgia by referencing styles, colors, images and designs from the past. The group show includes art by around 34 artists include Kurt Gielh, Andrea McCaffrey, Kat O'Neill, Francisco Aliotta, Anthony D’Avino and others. The exhibition remains on view through May 19, 2019. ASHAWAGH HALL - Artist Alliance of East Hampton "Members Show: Visions of Spring" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. The show remains on view through May 12, 2019 with gallery hours daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ashawagh Hall is located at 780 Springs Fireplace Road, East Hampton, NY 11937. www.ashawagh-hall.org.

SAG HARBOR

KEYES GALLERY - "The Women I Love" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. The group show includes art by Liz Barber, Audrey Flack, Suzanne Hagerstrom, Melinda Hackett, Mary Jo McConnell, Tammy Smith and Michelle Suna. The exhibition remains on view through May 17, 2019. A Sunday Brunch with Poetry Reading by Star Black takes place on Sunday, May 5, 2019. EASTERN LONG ISLAND - BELLPORT

MARQUEE PROJECTS - "Yearning For New Physics: Laura Kaufman" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition continues on view through May 27, 2019. The exhibition presents Kaufman's art which, through language and geometric abstraction, builds and undermines existing systems of shapes, words and numbers. Using materials that include felt, steel, linen and cotton, her work often refers to landscape, minimalism, information and traditional textile crafts while inventing new, blended relationships. KEYES GALLERY - "The Women I Love" has a "Sunday Brunch & Poetry Reading" on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with croissants, coffee and mimosas. The Poetry Reading features Star Black followed by a book signing Black's "The Popular Vote." FEtures. The Brunch is in support of the group show featuring art by seven women.
