The first of the spring benefit parties, the last week of the Southampton Art Center's popular "TakeOver!" Artist in Residence" exhibition programming plus film, live music, creative networking and a poetry series launch are on our list of the best things to do in The Hamptons this weekend. Starting on Thursday night and running through Sunday, all take place through April 14, 2019.

"TakeOver! Artist in Residence" Final Week

Southampton Arts Center's "TakeOver! Artists in Residence" heads into its final week before closing on Sunday evening. On Thursday, April 11, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m., visit with the artists during the final "Hangout" evening. Admission is free.

A Closing Day Tour & Champaigne Reception takes place on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. Admission is also free.

Suggested Admission is $5 or free for under 12 years old when visiting the exhibition and artist-at-work combination outside of the events. Creative Networking

East Hampton Arts Council's Creative Network Night at the Golden Eagle takes place on Friday, April 12, 2019 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The evening features presentations by painter Margery Gosnell-Qua; writer and musician Chris Walsh; multi-disciplinary artist Aaron Warkov and Neo-Political Cowgirls founder and artistic director Kate Mueth.

Poetry Reading Series Kick Off

Southampton Cultural Center is introducing its first Poetry Evening & Open Mic on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 7 p.m. on the stage of the Levitas Center for the Arts.

Hosted by Bruce Levine and Jane Briganti, the evening of poetry readings and open mic welcomes poets, poetry lovers and supporters of literature to attend and be part of this new series.

Parrish's Spring Fling Benefit

The Parrish Art Museum's Spring Fling Benefit Party takes place on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 7:30 to 11 p.m. 

The annual benefit party features dancing, open bar, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction and networking with proceeds benefit the museum's programming.

Advance Tickets are $150 for members; $200 for non-members and $100 for Young Professionals (21 to 30 years old) and can be purchased online by clicking here. Tickets, if available, are sold at the door for $225. The benefit party typically sells out.

Film Screening & Producer Talk Back

Bay Street Theater screens "City Hall" on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 8 p.m. followed by a Talk Back with Film Producer Ken Lipper.

"City Hall" portrays the accidental shooting of a boy in New York, leading to an investigation by the Deputy Mayor with unexpected consequences.

Chamber Music

Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival presents the Jerusalem Quartet on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 5 p.m. at the Bridghampton Presbyterian Church.

The group performs a program by Debussy, Bartok & Ravel. It is the first time the group is performing in Bridgehampton.
