1. "Dignity: Tribes in Transition" by Dana Gluckstein at Steinberg Museum of Art
On view October 18, 2018 to March 8, 2019
Dana Gluckstein's touring exhibition "Dignity: Tribes in Transition" offers 60 black-and-white photographs of Indigenous Peoples that capture moments spanning three decades at C.W. Post's Steinberg Museum of Art in Nassau County. Gluckstein's portraits capture the collision when traditional and contemporary cultures collide and the universality of the human experience.
"Dignity" was first presented at the United Nations in Geneva in 2011, following the U.S. adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples that joined 147 other countries adopting the Declaration. Gluckstein addressed the World Economic Forum in 2013 in Davos, Switzerland on the ways art can impact the state of the world. The exhibition began its U.S tour in 2014, following its European tour where it was presented in museums. The exhibition, as well as an Gluckstein's book, DIGNITY: In Honor of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, received international awards.

2. Faculty Art Exhibited at Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery of Stony Brook University
On view October 17 to December 16, 2018
Upcoming Salon Talks take place at noon on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, and Wednesday, November 28, 2018.
"The Faculty Exhibition 2018" gives the chance for art professors to move beyond their teaching desks to exhibit their art. The show presents new work by Stony Brook University's Art Department on view at the Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery. On view are a variety of mediums by 18 artists, including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, video, digital art, printmaking and mixed media.
Exhibiting artists include Martin Levin, Ian Alan Paul, Stephanie Dinkins, Toby Buonagurio, Isak Berbic, Nobuho Nagasawa, Howardena Pindell, Maya Schindler, Lorena Salcedo-Watson, Jason Paradis, Mel Pekarsky, Patricia Maurides, Lorraine Walsh, Bruce Lieberman, Dan Richholt, Qin Han, Jeong-A Seong and Takafumi Ide.

3. "Colored Air: Fukuko Harris" at MARQUEE Projects
Fukuko Harris's solo show "Colored Air" heads into its final weekend at MARQUEE Projects in Bellport, NY in Suffolk County. On view through November 25, 2018, the exhibition presents paintings, sculptures and assemblages by the artist who divides her time between NYC and Montauk, NY.
The exhibition presents new works where Harris's love of bold color is evident as is her penchant for cojoining the unexpected. This includes materials, compositional shapes, patterned textiles and mark making. This is the first solo show for Harris at MARQUEE Projects. An artist profile on Harris and her art will publish shortly at Hamptons Art Hub.
