Hallockville Old Time Jam Band: Jam Session

The Hallockville Museum Farm presents “Old Time Jam Band: Jam Session” on Thursday, October 11, 2018, from 7 to 9 p.m. 

Old Time Jam Band performs historic tunes such as “Shove that Pig’s Foot” and “Cluck Old Hen” at the Naugles Barn. Guests are welcome to bring their instrument and join in to complete the jam experience or find a spot and enjoy the music.

Vineyard Seasons with Louisa Hargrave

The Peconic Landing Community Center presents “Vineyard Seasons with Louisa Hargrave” on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. 

Louisa Hargrave is co-founder of Long Island’s first winery, Hargrave Vineyard, and is credited with kickstarting the Long Island wine industry. Hargrave will discuss her experiences and insights while continuing her series on the cycle of the vine and the resulting wines in Long Island’s Vineyards.

SouthamptonFEST Kick Off

Southampton Village is the place to be for family fun, music, art, architecture and culture this weekend. Get things started on a fun note with SouthamptonFEST Kick Off Party on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. The 8th Annual SouthamptonFEST itself takes place on Saturday and Sunday, October 13 - 14, 2018 at multiple locations. Sponsored by the Southampton Rotary Club, the SouthamptonFEST Kick Off Party will be held in Agawam Park in Southampton Village on Friday night. The party includes live music by Mean Machine, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., with Beau Hulse's Sinatra Review performing from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. Complimentary beer and wine from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with a cash bar from 8 to 9:30 p.m. and food trucks on site.

Classical Music Series at The Parrish

The Parrish Art Museum presents “Salon Series: Pianist Niccolò Ronchi and Violinist Esther Abrami” on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 6 p.m. 

Continuing their Salon Series, the concert features internationally recognized Italian pianist Niccolò Ronchi and the award-winning violinist Esther Abrami. The program features the well-known Johann Sebastian Bach’s Chaconne in D minor by Ferruccio Busoni and will continue to offer transcriptions and arrangements for violin and piano throughout the evening. Following the performance, attendees have the opportunity to meet and talk with the musicians discussing their approach to interpretation and program selection.

Operatif Lecture with Victoria Bond at Guild Hall

Guild Hall presents “Biography of Myth” on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 12 to 12:30 p.m. 

Victoria Bond, distinguished composer and conductor, will explore the debate: “Biography or Myth: Do opera composers modify history to tell a better story?” The talk is held immediately preceding the Met Live screening of Verdi’s “Aida” at Guild Hall. The discussion will touch upon historically themed operas to examine the topic. The Opertif lecture includes a light buffet brunch.

Tiny Home vs. Mansion

The Southampton History Museum presents “Tiny House v Mansion” on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

As a part of SouthamptonFest, the museum will feature a 350 sq ft portable home made by Tiny Hamptons LLC at the Rogers Mansion.  Both the tiny house and 20-room Rogers Mansion will be open to the public to compare in size and furnishings. The local owners, Jessica and Mark, of Tiny Hamptons LLC will be available for questions.

The Radiance Project Celebrates with Collaborate Dance Event

The Southampton Arts Center presents “The Radiance Project, Completion” on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2 p.m. 

Stop by the lower west lawn of the Southampton Arts Center during SouthamptonFest to participate in a dance performance completing The Radiance Project, led by artist-in-residence Andrea Cote. The Radiance Project is a collaborative series of movement and art-making events leading to the creation of a large tapestry based on the circular mandala and community dance happenings. The theater will be open to view the collaborative tapestries created in Phase 1 and 2 of the Project.
