With Columbus Day Weekend in the rear view, the only thing to do is look forward! October brings new shows to the East End gallery scene with receptions and events taking place in The Hamptons and on the North Fork. MM FINE ART - "IN BLACK & WHITE: Painting Drawing & Sculpture" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. The group show features art by 18 artists and features art with an emphasis on composition and form. Exhibiting artists include Willem de Kooning, Eric Fischl, Cornelia Foss, Dalton Portella, Diego Rivera, Larry Rivers, Dan Rizzie, Donald Sultan and others. ASHAWAGH HALL - "The Beauty of the East End," the 4th Hamptons Plein Air Invitational has an Opening Reception on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. The show features over 20 artists. In addition to finished framed paintings, each day

GRENNING GALLERY - "The Russian - American Painting Alliance" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The second edition featuring art by the loose group whose members make plein air paintings and have an appreciation for both plein air traditions, which evolved separately in the 20th Century as Russian and American artists were unlikely to mix due to politics.
