A celebratory evening at The Drawing Center’s 2018 Benefit Auction on October 1, 2018 raised $340,000 for the New York City museum's programs and operations. The silent auction featured around 40 works from artists including Dan Colen, Eddie Martinez, Ryan McGinness, Eduardo Navarro, Claes Oldenburg, Olympia Scarry, Philip Taaffe, Charline von Heyl and others.
Co-Chaired by Andrea Crane and Amy Gold, the Benefit drew over 300 guests who included artists, gallerists, art collectors, patrons and friends of the museum. Attendees included both event co-chairs along with Rhiannon Kubicka, Richard Armstrong, Galia Meiri Stawski, Barbara Toll, Jane Dresner Sadaka, Marquise Stillwell and many others.
Artists had a major presence at the Benefit Auction. Attending the evening were Allison Hill-Edgar, Danielle Tegeder, David Scher, Ellen Harvey, Isca Greenfield-Sanders, Lisa Blas, Maria Berrio, Mia Enell, N. Dash, Pat Steir, Robert Otto Epstein, Susan York, Verne Dawson, Will Cotton and Ruby Onyinyechi Amanze and James Bartlett.
The Drawing Center is a New York City museum set in SoHo that explores the medium of drawing as primary, dynamic and relevant to contemporary culture, creative thought and to the future of art. The Drawing Center presents exhibitions and hosts Open Sessions, a curated artist program that encourages community and collaboration, public programs and the Drawing Papers publication series.
