The Budapest Festival Orchestra of Hungary took a pause from its European tour to perform a chamber concert at the Southampton home of Penny and Jay Lieberman on August 3, 2018. Beneath a striped marquee at poolside, Andrew Komaromi, board member of the Friends of Budapest Orchestra, opened the performance with thanks to the hosts and introduced a message from Maestro Ivan Fischer.

The Friends of Budapest Festival Orchestra hosted the event as part of an initiative to offer members unique opportunities to build a closer relationship with the Orchestra, both in North America and at home in Budapest, by hosting special events with Maestro Fischer and the orchestra musicians throughout the year. These include patron travel, back-stage access, an annual New York gala, the new Vicenza Opera Festival and chamber concerts in private homes.
