Guests can expect I AM to create three different atmospheres through performance which will be paired with wine and cheese to enhance each unique mood.

"FLASHBACK" features art that explores the intersection of pop culture by Joss Parker; David Morico; Seek One; and the artist team of StrosbergMandel.

JOSS PARKER

Contemporary artist Joss Parker creates images influenced by Pop Art. Many of his paintings and prints are celebrity portraits, such as his Marilyn Monroe series, Malcolm X and Jack Kerouac. His primary medium is aerosol on canvas "refined to look more like a proper acrylic painting than raw or playful stencils," according to The White Room Gallery.
Joss Parker grew up in the 80’s pop culture and is influenced by artists such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Kenny Scharf and Andy Howell. His artistic academics began with traditional oil painting & studying the masters as he studied at UC Santa Cruz for 2 years. After school, he lived & traveled all over the country. Along the way, he began spray painting graffiti & revisited the pop culture of his childhood.

DAVID MORICO

The inspiration behind David Morico’s pop-art is the connection of how iconic images touch our lives. The nostalgia of his childhood, has always fascinated him how items we read, buy or eat, play the mood of our existence. Such as the way a simple glass of orange juice can induce a burst of energy or how the sweetness of Twizzlers really does makes mouths smile.

These images of past icons expose  behaviors and communications that relate to all of us. The compositions of Morico's work are layered with paper collages (from old magazines), paint, spray paint and hand-written pencils to create depth and varying textures.

Many corporations have commissioned his work including CBS, TV network (executive offices), JP Morgan, Yale New Haven Hospital as well as numerous private collectors worldwide. His art is exhibited nationally and internationally including galleries located in Boston and the U.K.

SERGE STROSBERG+DAVID MANDEL

New York artists Serge Strosberg and David Mandel fuse the visual language of Flemish and German portraiture with fantasy jewelry and fabric design. Both artists present a contemporary and unlikely mixture of works inspired by their personal histories, especially those experiences of decadence and eccentricity of the NYC club era, particularly the many meme's of London club personality Leigh Bowery and Imperial Court drag adding an exuberant and human touch to the contemporary art scene.

StrosbergMandel combine oil/enamel painting with an assemblage of carefully chosen materials and multi-layered techniques using crystals, feathers, metal and luxe fabrics, according to The White Room Gallery. This collaboration evokes the dichotomy of the Flemish Van Eyck brothers or of German portraitist Holbein, where the representation of beauty and wealth hide a dark spiritual reality and fragility of life, according to the gallery. The ebb & flow in the work, physically kinetic or implied, is symbolic of life – in the guise of Memento Mori.

SEEK ONE

Seek One, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, began writing graffiti at the age of 15. After facing charges for vandalism, he transitioned from the streets into canvas in 2015. His work represents a combination of photography and graffiti expressed in a mixed media style deriving influence from Andy Warhol’s processes.

The significance behind each piece presents a unique form of authenticity that speaks to all ages and backgrounds. His day to day work focuses on power of popular culture while also focusing on the process of producing innovative fine art.
