Janet Lehr Fine Arts presents "Magical Realism-Shimon Okshteyn’s ‘Post-Pop’ personal reality," as its 2018 season’s opening exhibition--a highlight of an exciting 2018 season of unique exhibitions. Masterful execution, a gimlet-keen eye and boundless imagination, are the crux of Shimon Okshteyn’s work. Since the early days of living in America, Okshteyn has been a keen and sensitive observer of the external environment, voraciously absorbing all he sees. Okshteyn's imagination is captivated by the bewildering variety of life offered in America, according to the artist.

An exceptional colorist, Shimon Okshteyn's art is irresistibly attractive to the eye. His art has been exhibited internationally and nationally with solo shows held in both museums and galleries. Museum shows include those held at The Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), the Brooklyn Museum of Art (New York), The State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg); the National Jewish Museum (Washington, DC), the Katonah Museum of Art (Katonah, NY) and others.
Gallery shows include those held at Black & White Gallery/Project Space (Brooklyn); New York galleries Stefan Stux Gallery, Nohra Haime Gallery, OK Harris plus galleries located in London, Tel Aviv and other national and international locations.
