Concert in Greenport

Peconic Landing and East End Arts presents “Jennifer Hines and Jose Sacín In Concert” on Thursday, May 10, 2018, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The concert will be held at Peconic Landing Community Center in Greenport, NY.

New EEA Faculty member and vocalist Jennifer Hines, performs to the sounds of Peruvian baritone, Jose Sacín. With her distinctive timbre, voice, and versatility, Hines has performed many opera roles to critical acclaim. Peruvian baritone Sacín has a sturdy, commanding voice with a versatility and musicality that make him suited for principal baritone roles in the operas of Verdi and the Verismo style.

National Public Gardens Day 2018

LongHouse Reserve, Bridge Gardens and The Madoo Conservancy present “National Public Gardens Day 2018” on Friday, May 11, 2018.

This opportunity to explore gardens nationwide was created almost 10 years ago to "drive local and national exposure to the importance of building vibrant, relevant gardens committed to community enrichment and environmental responsibility."

Although the free-guided tours are all sold out, you can still enjoy the gardens of LongHouse Reserve and Bridge Gardens. The Madoo Conservancy opens their season to the public on May 15, 2018.

Salon Series Continues

The Parrish Art Museum presents "Salon Series: Pianist Inna Faliks" on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 6 p.m.

Inna Faliks’s Friday evening program will address her personal experiences with anti-Semitism, bullying, immigration and adjusting in a new country—as well as her early influences and evolution as an artist. Each spoken excerpt alternates with a piano repertoire that is closely connected to her life story. Faliks, performed at Salon Series in 2015.

2018 Spring Performing Arts Festival  

Southampton Cultural Center presents “2018 Spring Performing Arts Festival” on Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 3 to 8 p.m.

Join the Asian Cultural Arts Alliance as they present the music, song and dance from different Asian cultures. Workshops will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., with the performances taking place from 5 to 6 p.m. After the performance, meet the performers and organizers at the “Taste of Asia” food reception.

In Process @ The Watermill Center

The Watermill Center presents “In Process | ANTIMÉTODO, Jarrod Beck and Bastienne Schmidt” on Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m.

In Process @ The Watermill Center invites the community to engage with resident artists through open rehearsals, workshops, studio visits, lectures or artist talks. ANTIMÉTODO is an artists’ collective set up by Ana Luz Ormazábal in 2012, configured as a space of collaboration between creators. Jarrod Beck has created outdoor sculptures for numerous institutions around the nation. His drawings are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Bastienne Schmidt is a German born, Bridgehampton and New York based multimedia artist. As an artist she explores concepts of identity and place through photography and painting.
