It's hard to believe but Frieze Week is here again. Rolling into New York during the first week of May, this year seems an uptick of art fairs joining the extra attention the contemporary art fair brings with it.

Salon Zürcher, New York

April 30 to May 6, 2018

Closing Party: Sunday, May 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.

This mini art fair has its opening reception last week but there's still time to catch the Closing festivities during Freize Week. For its 20th edition, Salon Zürcher presents work by six galleries: Galerie La Forest Divonne, Paris, NORTE MAAR, New York, GALERIE LOUIS GENDRE, Chamalieres/Paris, Pixi Galerie, Paris, Galerie Motte Masselink, Paris, and Mathilde Hatzenberger Gallery, Brussels.

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday: noon to 8 p.m., Sunday: noon to 5 p.m.

Girls’ Night Out (For Art!): Saturday, May 5 from 8 to 11 p.m.

Superfine! returns to Frieze Week to present its second NYC edition. Featuring an expanded version, the contemporary art fair features 78 international art galleries, solo projects, and collectives set in NYC and from around the globe. Superfine! places an emphasis on emerging artists with price points for every budget in a fair that aims to close the gap between the art-appreciating public and the art collecting one through the discovering of emerging and independent artists. Go ahead, take a look. It will be fun.

Fridge Art Fair

May 2 to 6, 2018

Press Preview: Wednesday, May 2 from 2 to 5 p.m.

The Fridge All Star Celebrities’ on Ice: The Fridge Grand Gala: Wednesday, May 2 from  5 to 9 p.m.

This year's theme for the sixth edition of the unconventional Fridge art fair is, “The Tonya’s Tasty Triple Axel Icebox Cake Edition, featuring Ziggy’s Stardust Powdered Donuts.” Hosted once again by the NU Hotel in Downtown Brooklyn, Fridge will feature a tribute to David Bowie coinciding with the exhibition currently on view at the Brooklyn Museum.

Hours: Thursday to Friday: 1 to 9 p.m., Saturday: noon to 5 p.m.

Admission is pay-what-you-wish. Gala tickets are $41.

Moniker Art Fair

May 3 to 6, 2018

Moniker Art Fair presents its first New York edition, hosting 27 international exhibitors with booths that feature emerging and established urban and contemporary artists from across the world.

Hours: Friday: noon to 10 p.m., Saturday: noon to 8 p.m., Sunday: noon to 6 p.m.

Admission is $15.

Art New York

May 3 to 6, 2018

VIP Preview: Thursday, May 3 from 2 to 5 p.m. The evening will benefit the Joe Namath Foundation and the Hope for Depression Research Foundation

Art New York presents its fourth edition featuring art from the contemporary, modern, post-war and pop eras featuring paintings, photography, prints, drawings, design and sculpture. The 2018 edition will see over 85 international contemporary and modern galleries from 30 countries come together to represent over 1,200 artists.

Hours: Thursday: 5 to 8 p.m., Friday to Saturday: noon to 8 p.m., Sunday: noon to 6 p.m.

Admission for a one-day fair pass is $40 and a multi-day fair pass is $75. Students, seniors, and groups of 10 or more are $25. Children 12 and under are free. Tickets valid for admission to both Art New York and CONTEXT New York.

Frieze New York

Private View: Thursday, May 3 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Set on Randall Island overlooking the East River, Frieze New York has a focus on contemporary art from living artists presented by dynamic galleries set around the world. Expect aisles of art plus plenty of programs of including projects, talks and education.

Hours: Friday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday to Sunday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Admission for a one-day pass is $48, full time student and children 13-17  are $27.

The Other Art Fair

May 3 to 6, 2018

Presented by Saatchi Art, The Other Art Fair presents 130 independent and emerging artists at Greenpoint’s Brooklyn Expo Center.

Hours: Friday: 3 to 10 p.m., Saturday: noon to 9 p.m., Sunday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets are $15 and $13.50 for students and seniors.

1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair returns for fourth third New York edition. The title of the fair references the fifty-four countries that constitute the African continent - the fair strives to be a platform to represent multiplicity and showcase the diversity of contemporary African art and cultural production on an international stage.
