Afro/Latin Jazz Night by The Jam Session of The Hamptons

The Jam Session of The Hamptons presents Afro/Latin Jazz Night on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bay Burger.

The jazz improvisional music session features Oscar Feldman on sax; Helio Alves on piano; Michael O'Briend on upright bass and Clase Brondall on drums, who is the mc for the evening. The concert will be recorded for rebroadcast on WPPB 88.3 on Wednesday evenings during the Jam Session Recordings program held from 7 to 8 p.m. Click here for more information on The Jam Session of The Hamptons and for a upcoming schedule.

Hampton Theatre Company Presents "Venus in Fur"

The Hampton Theatre Company presents "Venus in Fur" at the Quogue Community Hall from January 11 to January 28, 2018.

“Venus in Fur”—a dark comedy by David Ives that takes gender politics and issues of domination to mythic proportions —will be the second play of the Hampton Theatre Company’s 2017-2018 season. The show is directed by Diana Marbury.

Curator Talk at The Parrish Art Museum

"The Curator's View: Permanent Collection - Five and Forward" takes place at The Parrish Art Museum on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 6 p.m.

Parrish Art Museum Curator Alicia Longwell will discuss the new Permanent Collection Exhibition: Five and Forward, on view through October 31, 2018. The exhibition celebrates the Museum's fifth anniversary at it's Water Mill Location. The eleven-gallery installation features thematic exhibitions along with galleries dedicated to James Brooks, William Merritt Chase and Alan Shields.

Southampton Cultural Center’s Center Stage presents Crimes of the Heart

The Southampton Cultural Center presents Crimes of the Heart from January 12 to 28, 2018.

Playwright Beth Henley's Crimes of the Heart is a dark comedy centering around the story of the three Magrath sisters. The sisters have been reunited at their grandfather's house after the youngest sister has shot her abusive husband. Resentments and dysfunction bubble to the surface as the sisters revisit their pasts.

Tickets are $25, $15 for students under 21 with ID. Southampton Cultural Center is located at 25 Pond Lane, Southampton, NY 11968. www.scc-arts.org.

Guild Hall presents a screening of The Opera House

Guild Hall screens The Opera House on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 1 p.m.

The Opera House is a new film by documentary filmmaker Susan Froemke that draws on archival footage, stills and interviews to chronicle the creation of the home of the Metropolitan Opera.
