Film lovers rejoice: our list of the best things to do on the East End this week includes screenings galore. Also on tap are live music events and a live reading of a new musical. Read on for event highlights through January 8, 2017.

Screening of "Chuck Close" at The Parrish Art Museum

The Parrish Art Museum screens "Chuck Close" on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 6 p.m.

The Parrish begins it's 2018 series of Friday night programs with a screening of the documentary "Chuck Close" by Marion Cajori. The film will be followed by a talk with Museum Directory Terrie Sultan on the artist. Close's work is on view in the current museum exhibition, "From Lens to Eye to Hand: Photorealism 1969 to Today.

Screening of "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center

Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center screens "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 7 p.m., on Saturday, January 6 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on Sunday, January 7 at 4 p.m.

After her daughter is murdered and months pass without the police finding a culprit, Mildred Hayes creates three billboards leading into her town criticizing the revered chief of police. The 2017 drama is directed by Martin McDonagh.

Hamptons International Film Festival & Guild Hall Screen KEDI

The Hamptons International Film Festival & Guild Hall present a screening of "KEDI" on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from at 6 p.m. at Guild Hall.

"KEDI" is a 2016 film from Turkey directed by Ceyda Torun. The film centers around the hundreds of thousands of feral cats that freely roam Istanbul and how they influence people's lives and communities.

A Night of Music with Nancy Atlas & Friends at Bay Street Theater

Bay Street Theater presents Fireside Sessions with Nancy Atlas on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 8 p.m.

Memphis joins Nancy Atlas along with a special guest for a night of music at Bay Street Theater as part of a winter music series.

‘PORTRAITS’ featuring Billy Squier and GE Smith at The Suffolk Theater

The Suffolk Theater presents 'PORTRAITS' on Saturday, January 8, 2018 at 8 p.m. Doors at 6:30 p.m.

Musicians Billy Squier and GE Smith come together for a musical night highlighting conversation and collaboration by performing stripped down versions of Billy Squier's music. Squier has 11 albums, selling nearly 20 million records (The Stroke, Everybody Wants You). GE Smith is a master guitarist who has played lead for Bob Dylan, Hall & Oats, Roger Waters in the WALL Live and others. He was musical director for Saturday Night Live for 10 years, where he won an Emmy.

JTDLab - RACHEL: A new musical about Rachel Carson at Guild Hall

Guild Hall Presents JTDLab: "RACHEL" on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.

Visitors are invited to a staged reading of "RACHEL," a new musical about Rachel Carson. Carson was a Marine biologist, writer and gay woman who has been credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The musical is directed by Ari Laura Kreith with music by Jared Field and the book and lyrics by Jessie Field.
