SOUTHAMPTON

SOUTHAMPTON ARTS CENTER - "ABOUT FACE" has a Curators and Artists Talk on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 6 p.m. The talk will be followed by a reception and a live acoustic performance by Scott Avett. Co-curated by musician and painter Scott Avett and David Kratz, president of the New York Academy of Art, the exhibition examines the ways that human beings are represented in contemporary art. On view are realistic paintings of commonplace subjects by Dike Blair and life-size, realistic sculptures of figures by Duane Hanson. BRIDGEHAMPTON

RJD GALLERY - Andrea Kowch Solo Exhibition: "Into the Wind" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. On view are nine original paintings and a limited edition print collection by Andrea Kowch. All of the paintings, except one, have already been sold. In the adjacent exhibition space within the gallery, paintings by Columbian artist and poet Armando Valero will be on view. HALSEY MCKAY GALLERY - "Ernesto Burgos & Chris Duncan" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through October 15, 2017.
