The first weekend in April is a relative quiet one for the East End gallery scene (except for East Hampton Village), allowing art fans to catch up on a multiple of shows that opened in the last few weeks as well as those who are about to close. ASHAWAGH HALL - "Under the Influence" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Ashawagh Hall. The exhibition features art by Pam Collins Focarino, Ruby Jackson, Tracy Jamar and Rose Zelenetz. All four artists are former volunteer docents and former employees at the Pollock-Krasner House & Study Center in The Springs, located outside of East Hampton Village. FOLIOEAST - "SALON EXHIBITION 6" has an Opening Reception on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at its winter residency at Malia Mills in East Hampton. The group show features art by Hiroyuki Hamada, Perry Burns, Janet Jennings and Lindsay Morris. The show remains on view through April 9, 2017. ROMANY KRAMORIS GALLERY - "Season's Preview" opens on Saturday, April 1, 2017 and continues on view through April 27, 2017. There is no opening reception but the gallery and museum store are open daily. The exhibition features Hamptons artists who will make a splash later in the season.
