1.  Costume Party at Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa

Gurney’s in Montauk celebrates New Year's Eve 2016 with Costume Party for its 53rd annual New Year’s Eve party. For the shy, costumes are optional. For the bold, prizes will be awarded for the best four costumes. The party starts at 9 p.m. and features live music by Kim Sozzi Creations Music, Gurney's Beach Club DJ Nicole Leone, a four-hour open bar, hors d’oeuvres and complimentary midnight champagne.

2. New Year's Eve Party with Nancy Atlas Project at Stephen Talkhouse

Rock and roll all night long at the Stephen Talkhouse and welcome 2017 with musical flair. The G.E. Smith Band & Chad Smith features blues led by former Saturday Night Live Band leader G.E. Smith, gets things started at 8 p.m. The Talkhouse's New Year's Eve Party with Nancy Atlas Project launches at 10 p.m. with her beloved brand of original Americana rock. Both shows are 21 years old and older.

Tickets are $30 for the G.E. Smith Band and $30 for Nancy Atlas Project when purchased in advance. Tickets to the New Year's Eve Party are also available at the door for $40.

3. New Year's Eve "Laugh, Dine & Dance" & After Hours Dance Party at Suffolk Theater

The Suffolk Theater invites guests to laugh, dine and dance at its 2016 New Year’s Eve Bash. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for drinks and dining with a special three-course chef's meal available as well as prix fix and ala carte dining. Comedians take the stage at 8 p.m. and feature sets by Tom Daddario, Maria Walsh and Richie Byrne. Afterwards, the theater transforms into party central from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. for the "After Hours Dance Party" featuring music by DJ Phil and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.

Tickets are $45 to the "Laugh, Dance & Dine" with the Chef's Meal available for $37 if reserved before December 30 or $40 on New Year's Eve. Tickets are $15 for the "After Hours Dance Party" only.

4.  Southampton Social Club New Year's Eve Bash

The Southampton Social Club is throwing a New Year’s Eve Party and guests have three options for joining in the fun to welcome 2017. There’s a party-only Silver package, starting at 9 p.m., that includes hors d’oeuvres, music by DJ Drazon, party favors, and a champagne toast at midnight with live coverage of the ball drop in Times Square.

There are Gold and Platinum packages for dinner, starting at 7 p.m. The Gold Package includes wine and cocktails with a four-course dinner by Chef Scott Kampf. The Platinum package features a private table, bottle service and an included bottle of liquor and champagne. Both dinner packages include the New Year's Eve Party.

Tickets are $95 per person for the New Year's Party only and $150 or $200 per person for dinner. Tickets must be purchased in advance. The evening is expected to sell out.

5.  Dining, DJ & Dancing at 75 Main

75 Main in Southampton is sure to be a hot spot on New Year's Eve 2016. Celebrations will abound from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. with prix fixe dining and an Open Bar from 7 p.m. until midnight available. A four-course prix fixe dinner will be served for $65 or stay for the party for $125. Interested in dancing and bar service only? Admission is $60. Reservations required for dining only. Admission to the New Year's Party is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Candlelight Tour at Southampton Historical Society

Relax into the New Year Eve with a 2016 candlelight tour at the Rogers Mansion in Southampton Village. Taking place from 4 to 5:30 p.m., the parlors and sitting rooms of the Southampton Historical Society are decorated with garlands of green, flowers and antique decorations on the trees. Light refreshments will served and tours begin every 15 minutes. It's also the last chance to see the exhibition "Southampton Under Siege." Click here for details.

Celebrate with Family & Fishes

Looking for a family-friendly environment to celebrate New Year's Eve and welcome 2017? The Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center has the answer. The "Fishes & Wishes New Year's Eve Party" takes place from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Expect a cocktail hour, dancing, a buffet dinner, activities for the kids, an ice cream bar, a penguin meet and greet, and a mock-Midnight champagne and sparking cider toast at 10:30 p.m. When all is said and done, they'll be plenty of time to welcome New Year's Eve quietly at home.

Admission is $99 for those 13 years and older or $89 for aquarium members; $60 for those 3 to 12 years old or $55 for members; and free for children two years old or younger. Reservations are required and can be made by clicking here or calling 631-208-9200 ext. 426.
