"I do images in charcoal relating to memories. I then paint with  acrylics obscuring the image but not entirely. Spray paint is the final layer. This medium permits me to express inner turmoil and awareness of nature."

"The seasons play an important role in the work. I best paint at night when the full moon is bright. Colors dance from golden/old Holland acrylic speaking to the set designer in me-thus a throwback to years gone by as a stage actress in Chicago Illinois. I express feeling/temperament through the horizontal line. i wish to resemble a touch of realism with an abstraction form to convey tender renders of splendor. I am an open channel, trying as I might be channeling Matisse, Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso to take my hand that i may create a piece of peace and love. I am devoted to the art of the draw.

"My emphasis in Fine Art is in “exploring the expression of emotion' in oil or acrylic via conceptual art, landscapes, figure painting, portrait art, and still life paintings."

Melissa's emphasis in Fine Art is in exploring the expression of emotion through the use of pure color and composition. Utilizing the complexity of applying/throwing a multitude of colors. Each color dominating various parts of the whole until layer after layer the image is complete. This current exhibit Melissa explores Nature : a harmonious existence amongst many complete parts.

"My art is all about animals and relationship to each other and people. My sculptures are bronze, bonded bronze and resin. Recently, I started painting on canvas and then applying resin to add another level."
