Benefit season in The Hamptons and East End moves into full swing in August with options more plentiful than time could possibly allow. Expect art auctions, dancing, galas with live music as centerpiece, a night of authors, a charity softball game, box art, artist birdhouses and much more in benefit events held on the North Fork and South Fork. BCMF Annual Benefit – A Virtuoso Evening

“Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival Annual Benefit – A Virtuoso Evening” will take place on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the Atlantic Golf Course in Bridgehampton, NY.

Support the BCMF and enjoy an evening of virtuosic wonder, with a group of artists performing a program stretching over 300 years of composition. A concerto by Vivaldi, Schnittke’s tongue-in-cheek homage to Mozart, and the almost orchestral Nonet of Spohr will all be performed. Cocktails and dinner will follow the program.

Southampton Hospital’s 58th Annual Summer Party

“Southampton Hospital’s 58th Annual Summer Party” will take place on Saturday, August 6, 2016. The event will be held under the air-conditioned tents at the corner of Wickapogue Road and Old Town Road, Southampton, NY. Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m., with dinner and dancing at 7:30 p.m.

Enjoy an evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing, which includes a silent auction and raffle to benefit The Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department.

Oysterpond Historical Society's Summer Soirée

The Summer Soirée benefiting the Oysterpond Historical Society takes place on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Poquatuck Park in Orient Village. The gala features a live art auction along with a series of artist-made birdhouses.

“The Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation Gala” will take place on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Montauk Playhouse. This year’s Gala will honor George F. Biondo and Perry Duryea III, two Montauk residents who give tirelessly to the community and have been invaluable in supporting the Foundation’s mission.

The gala features dinner, dancing, drinks and a live auction to benefit the foundation's fundraising efforts to construct an Aquatic and Cultural Center in the historic Montauk Playhouse. This year’s featured performers will be Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue.

“Through Farms and Fields” will take place on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 4 p.m. at Quail Hill Farm in Amagansett, NY.

“CELEBRATE ART! Cocktails and Art Talk Benefit” will take place on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Quogue Historical Society. The event will take place on the Village Green.

All proceeds go directly to support the Quogue Historical Society’s Education, Collections Care, and Historic Preservation programs. From 5:30 to 6 p.m. enjoy Quogue resident Stacey Goergen and Amanda Benchley as they speak about their new book, “Artists Living With Art.”

Guild Hall Summer Gala: Celebrating "Aspects of Minimalism"

“Guild Hall Summer Gala: Celebrating "Aspects of Minimalism” will take place on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 5 to 11 p.m.

The gala begins with a private exhibition preview of Guild Hall’s new summer exhibition Aspects of Minimalism. The evening continues at Mulford Farm with cocktails, music, dancing, dining and a live art auction. The gala honors Neda Young and is hosted by artist April Gornik with music by DJ Hannah Bronfman. The live auction will include artworks by Lucas Blalock, Robert Longo, Vik Muniz, Andres Serrano, Cindy Sherman, Carrie Mae Weems, and Lisa Yuskavage. Meet the Artists Reception 

The Southold Historical Society hosts an Auction Preview and Meet the Artists Reception on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 6 p.m. at Castello di Borghese Vineyard in Cutchogue on the North Fork. The event features a meet and greet with the artists and a private tour of the art exhibition which is the centerpiece of the Exhibition & Auction benefit taking place on Saturday, August 27, 2016. The exhibition includes contemporary art by Alan Bull, EJ Camp, Randee Daddona and others.

“East Hampton Library’s Authors Night” will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2016. The Authors Night fundraiser benefits the East Hampton Library. 

An Authors Book Signing Cocktail Reception will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and wine under the tent. Meet authors, buy their books and have them signed. 68th Annual East Hampton Artists & Writers Charity Softball Game

“The 68th Annual East Hampton Artists & Writers Charity Softball Game” will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Herrick Park, East Hampton. Batting practice starts at noon. A rain date will be scheduled for August 27.

The East Hampton Artists & Writers Annual Softball Game and its events are dedicated to building a community around the game and building a better game to serve the community. In the spirit of one of the longest-continuing traditions on the East End, artists, writers, supporters and volunteers come together for entertainment, competition and fun to benefit local charities that provide vital human services.

A Pre-Game Cocktail Party will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at LTV Studio in Wainscott. The evening will feature live and silent auctions, food from local restaurants and wine and beer. Tickets are $50, if purchased online before August 15, and $75 at the door. $10 suggested donation or more for the Softball Game. 16th Annual Box Art Auction 2016

“The 16th Annual Box Art Auction,” to benefit East End Hospice will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2016, from 4:30 to 8 p.m., at St. Luke’s Hoie Hall in East Hampton. An Auction Preview will be held on Wednesday, August 24 and Thursday, August 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A free Preview Reception will be held on Wednesday, August 24 from 5 to 7 p.m.

This year’s auctioneer is Lucas Hunt. Prominent artists from the East End incorporate either a wine box or a cigar box to create unique, collectible works of art, which will be included in either the silent or the live auctions. To view a preview of Artists Boxes click here.
