The East End gallery scene moves into full swing with the arrival of July. The July 4th Weekend gets summer started with opening receptions taking place from Southampton to East Hampton. SAG HARBOR WHALING & HISTORICAL MUSEUM GALLERY - "Every Village Has a Story: PEOPLE" has an Opening Reception on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through July 18, 2018. Curated by photographer Kathryn Szoka, the exhibition celebrates workers in Sag Harbor Village and combines vintage photographs from private and institution collections with photography and paintings from artists who lived or worked in Sag Harbor Village. Exhibiting artists include Linda K. Alpern, Michael A. Butler, Ann Chwatsky, Arthur Leipzig, David Slater and Kathryn Szoka. VERED GALLERY - "American Modernism" and "It's Color" have a joint Opening Reception on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m. The exhibitions launch the Vered Gallery's Summer Season and remain on view through August 5, 2016.
