An unusual art exhibition is arriving at the Water Mill Museum Art Gallery. In "Best of Thirty Squared 2016," 26 artists display and sell their best works from their 2nd annual challenge to EACH "paint 30 paintings in 30 days.” The walls overflow with paintings and photography from beach, to landscape, people, dogs, fish, flowers and fruit, urban and country, real and abstract, tiny to large framed and for sale. Part of the proceeds benefit the historic grist mill at the museum.

Local Hamptons artist Aubrey Grainger first sparked the idea, then built online support (Facebook) and so a successful artists’ collective was born. The art challenge of creating "30 Paintings in 30 Days" is the perfect marriage of art and collaboration, inspiring and encouraging artists to continue creating, painting and making art during winter.

Last year’s show was the highest yielding gallery benefit in recent history, selling 17 paintings and netting over $2,500 in fundraising for the historic Water Mill Museum.
The outcome? For the second year in a row, this creative ‘cabin-fevered’ community of artists successfully produced dozens of new pieces each. Their energy and distinguished abilities shine through at the BEST OF 30 SQUARED 2016 exhibition.
