Things are happening in The Hamptons in March with plenty of film, art talks, live music, theater and more things to do taking place. Following is our list of some of the best events taking place in The Hamptons and the East End of Long Island in March. With plenty of arts and cultural events taking place, you're bound to find many things to do for the weekend and weekday.

1. Film Screenings of Oscar Nominated Shorts at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center

Oscar Nominated Short Films screen in two programs from March 18 to 20, 2016 at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. A program of Live Action Short will screen March 18 and 19, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. Films include "Ave Maria" (Palestine/France/Germany), "Shok" (Kosovo/UK), "Everything Will Be OK" (Germany/Austria), "Stutterer" (UK/Ireland) and "Day One" (USA). A program of Animated Shorts will be shown on March 19 and 20, 2016 at 4 p.m. Films include "Sanjay’s Super Team" (USA), "World of Tomorrow" (USA), "Bear Story" (Chile), "We Can’t Live Without Cosmos" (Russia) and "Prologue" (UK) (Not suitable for young viewers).

Admission is $16 per screening for adults, $10 for seniors and $6 for film society members. Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center is located at 76 Main St, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978. www.whbpac.org.

2. Final Weekend for Live Music & Wine Event at Winterfest - Live on the Vine

Winterfest - Live on the Vine wraps up its five-week music and wine festival with its final events held Thursday to Sunday, March 17 - 20, 2016. Taking place at venues on the North Fork, Riverhead and The Hamptons, music events highlights include Judy Collins, Jefferson Starship and the Bryan Carter Trio. Wine events for the weekend take place only on the North Fork at Raphael Winery, Coffee Pot Cellar and Palmer Vineyards.

3. Artist Talk: Connie Fox at The Parrish Art Museum

"The Artist's View: Connie Fox" takes place on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. Exhibiting artist Connie Fox talks with Alicia Longwell, the Parrish's Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Chief Curator, Art and Education, in an intimate conversation about Fox's self-portraits on view in "Parrish Perspectives" in her solo exhibition focus "Connie Fox: Self As..."

"Parrish Perspective" features three solo exhibitions tied together with a theme of revealing a specific part of an artist's practice while highlighting three Hamptons artists. The exhibition opened March 13 and continues through April 24, 2016.

4. Film Discussion Inaugurates "Canio's Cinema Series" 

Canio's Books in Sag Harbor is unveiling its new "Canio's Cinema Series" with the film "Spotlight" in a two-part presentation. The film screened earlier this month at the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton but the film discussion "Spotlight on 'Spotlight'" takes place on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Sag Harbor book store. The discussion features Richard Lawless, PhD and journalist Bob Keeler discussing the limits and possibilities of institutional change and the responsibilities of individual conscience.

5. Meghan Boody: Artist Talk and Book Signing at Peconic Landing

Artist Meghan Boody will discuss her new book on Saturday, March 19 at 4 p.m. Boody will discuss her process in creating the photographs in We are Gods in the Chrysalis as well as expound on topics such as psychological transformation and strategies to navigate the ups and downs of life. Following the discussion, she will give mini Tarot card readings to volunteers.

6. Madoo Winter Lecture Series: Author Susan Cohen

A discussion with Susan Cohen takes place on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at noon at The Madoo Conservancy in Sagaponack. Cohen will discuss her book "The Inspired Landscape" in which she interviewed 21 landscape architects from around the world to uncover the creative spark that inspired their projects.

7. Immersive Dance Theater with Kate Mueth and the Neo-Political Cowgirls at Guild Hall

JDTLab: "Andromeda" takes place on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Guild Hall. The event is a work-in-progress sneak preview of Kate Mueth and the Neo-Political Cowgirl's immersive dance theater work produced in collaboration with Sag Harbor puppeteer Liz Joyce. The performance deconstructs the ancient myth Andromeda for a modern examination.

8. Watermill Center Film Screening & Open Rehearsal: Francesca Fini

A Film Screening and Open Rehearsal by Francesca Fini takes place on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 1 to 8 p.m. at Watermill Center. A Screening of "OFELIA NON ANNEGA (Ophelia did not drown)" takes place from 1 to 6 p.m. Fini's experimental film re-interprets the Shakespearean drama with a surreal twist and from the point of view of Ophelia. The film is accompanied by performance art.

An Open Rehearsal of La Masca follows the screening from 6 to 8 p.m. La Masca is a site-specific mixed media installation in which Fini exhibits original masks based on her previous performance experience at Watermill Center in 2014.

9. Exhibition Talk: Brian Gaman's Artwork Discussed at The Parrish Art Museum

Curator and artist Janet Goleas will give a talk on the work of Brian Gaman (1949-2014) and his solo exhibition "Brian Gaman: Vanishing Point" currently on view as part of "Parrish Perspectives." The Artist's View, featuring Goleas, takes place on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 11 a.m.

10. Hampton Theatre Company: "Lost in Yonkers" by Neil Simon

"Lost in Yonkers" presented by Hamptons Theatre Company opens on Thursday, March 31 and continues through April 17, 2016 at Quogue Community Hall. Neil Simon’s comic play is about two young boys coming of age in a family of colorful characters in the “City of Gracious Living” in 1942. Directed by George A. Loizides.
