Impending Winter Storm Jonas is already making itself felt on the East End in the form of closures and cancellations of art and culture events. It's pretty safe to say that most events slated for Saturday, January 23, 2016, have been either cancelled or postponed. Sunday is still up for grabs with some events planning to take place while other groups and museums planning to remain closed on Sunday.

One exception for Saturday night is Hamptons Theatre Company's production of "Dead Accounts". Director Andrew Botsford said he's taking a wait-and-see position and the show may go on, despite the snow storm. Ticket holders will be contacted if the show cancelled and those interested in braving the weather should contact HTC for availability to the show (or check back as this story will be updated as information is received). Bay Street Theater hasn't committed to cancelling Nancy Atlas's concert for Saturday night either. A message on their website advises that ticket holders will be contacted if any events cancel and updates on closing will be posted on their website.

UPDATE: 01/24/16: Bay Street has since cancelled all weekend performances due to weather. Hampton Theatre Company has since cancelled Saturday and Sunday performances. North Fork Community Theater will hold its Sunday matinée performance. See below for details.

Writers actually receive a bonus with the arrival of Winter Storm Jonas: Anyone applying during the snow storm to The Southampton Writers Conference, held at Stony Brook Southampton this summer, will receive a free copy of the literary journal TSR: The Southampton Review. "With works from some of today's greatest writers, it is the perfect way to ride out the next big storm," according to the Writers Conference announcement. For those considering venturing to outside ports of art and culture this weekend, Hamptons Art Hub has compiled a list of what's open and closed in the world of art and culture on the East End. Before deciding to exit post-Snowmaggedon 2016, it's advisable to check with your destination first to confirm the doors will be open and visitors welcome.
