Art and culture events abound in The Hamptons and East End this weekend. Expect to find theater, talks, live music and more for your weekend planning. There are no exhibition receptions but most galleries are open on weekends. Continue reading for the full list of options in art and culture.

EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS

EAST HAMPTON LIBRARY - “Sinatra at 100: Performance by Jerry Costanzo” takes place on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. Singer and entertainer Jerry Costanzo will perform in celebration of Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday. GUILD HALL - “The Met: Live in HD - Mozart’s The Magic Flutetakes place on Saturday at 1 p.m. Admission to the screening is $22, $20 for Members, $15 for students.

GREENPORT   

PECONIC LANDING - “Live in HD: Jewels” takes place on Sunday at 3 p.m. The screening of the live ballet is presented by Peconic Landing, The Bolshoi Ballet from Moscow and BY Experience. Admission is $20. Registration is required. 

“Book Reading: Truman Capote’s A Christmas Memorytakes place on Saturday at 7 p.m. The story will be read by Thomas DeWolfe & Jere Jacob. Admission is free.

SAG HARBOR

BAY STREET THEATER - “Mixed Nuts Ballet Dance Performance” takes place on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and on Sunday at 1 p.m. The classic Nutcracker performance with a twist is presented by the student dancers of Studio 3 Dance Studio of Bridgehampton. Admission is $20 for adults and children 11 and up in advance, $25 at the door, $15 for seniors and children 10 and under in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets can be purchased by calling 631.537.3008.

“Holiday Party & Sing-Along” takes place on Monday at 7 p.m. The event begins with a talk and demonstration by Don Duga, creator of “Frosty the Snowman.” The Sing-Along will be led by pianist Rick Unterberg. Admission is $15, $30 for a ticket including a personalized caricature by Don Duga.

CANIO’S BOOKS - “Book Reading: Simon Van Booy’s Tales of Accidental Geniustakes place on Friday at 5 p.m. Simon Van Booy will read from his latest story collection. A “Holiday Party” takes place on Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. following the reading.

OLD WHALERS’ CHURCH - “Old Whalers’ Holiday Concert” takes place on Sunday at 7 p.m. The program includes christmas carols and more performed by the holiday chorus, Old Whalers’ bell choir and several soloists. A free-will offering will be collected. The Old Whalers’ Church is located at 44 Union Street, Sag Harbor, NY 11963. www.oldwhalerschurch.org.

TEMPLE ADAS ISRAEL - “Talk: Armineh Ohanian on pre-revolutionary Iran” takes place this evening at 7 p.m. Ohanian will speak on the experiences of Christian and Jewish minorities in pre-revolutionary Iran. WATER MILL

PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “Gesture Jam: Figure Drawing Event” takes place on Friday at 6 p.m. Performance artists John Bonefede and Molly Morgan Weiss will be featured models in the event led by artist and educator Andrea Cote. Admission is $10, free for members, children and students.

“Gallery Talk with Artist Alexis Rockman” takes place on Saturday at 2 p.m. Rockman will discuss his exhibition “East End Field Drawings” with Parrish Director Terrie Sultan. Admission is $10, free for members, children and students. Reservations are recommended. 

“Guided Tour of the Permanent Collection” takes place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m. The docent-led tour features highlights from the seven permanent collection galleries. Free with museum admission. Reservations suggested.

WATERMILL CENTER - “Research Workshop: Would You Share a Lullaby? by Sophia Brous” takes place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Resident Artist Sophia Brous will interview members of the local community to learn about the lullabies of their families in preparation for her January residency project, Lullaby Movement. Pre-registration is required.

“Open Studio: Everything Alright by Carlos Soto” takes place on Saturday at 7 p.m. Resident Artist Carlos Soto will present a musical theater work for five performers written in collaboration with singer-songwriter DM Stith. Admission is free. Reservations are required.
