Holiday celebrations, festive concerts and small works exhibitions abound in the Hamptons and East End this weekend. Book readings and signings and gallery talks are also taking place across the Hamptons. BRIDGEHAMPTON
THE WHITE ROOM GALLERY - “Book Readings, Wine Tasting & Tutorial” takes place on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Readings by authors Owain Hughes and Anna Jurinich take place from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Following the readings is a wine tasting & tutorial lead by GM/Sommelier Chimene Macnaughton of Wainscott Main Wine. On view in the gallery are works by Daniel Schoenheimer, Kimberly Goff & Sally Breen. Admission for the event is a suggested donation of $10. RSVP for the wine tutorial at [email protected]. EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS
EAST HAMPTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - “25th Annual Holiday Tour of Inns, B & Bs and Special Places” takes place on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Attendees can check in in at 11:00 AM at the Huntting Inn, located at 94 Main Street, East Hampton. NORTH FORK WRITERS GROUP at EAST HAMPTON PUBLIC LIBRARY - “Writers Reading, Q & A and Book Signing” takes place on Saturday at 1 p.m. Members of the North Fork Writers Group will read excerpts from their new anthology, “Seven Voices.” Readers include Susan Rosenstreich, David Porteous and Joyce deCordova. QUOGUE LIBRARY - “Small Treasures: Featured Works by 9 East End Artists” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through January 3. SOUTHAMPTON HISTORICAL MUSEUM - “Hearthside Cheer Celebration” takes place in the Rogers Mansion on Saturday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The celebration includes sing-a-longs of holiday songs around a piano, hors d’oeuvres, sweets, a bar, festive decor and more. WATER MILL
PARRISH ART MUSEUM - "Brain Food: Illustrated Talk on The Permanent Collection: Connections and Context" takes place today at noon. The talk by Curator Alicia G. Longwell focuses on the recent reinstallation of the Museum’s Permanent Collection. Admission is $10, free for members, students and children.
“Guided Tour of the Permanent Collection” takes place on Wednesdays and Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m. The docent-led tour features highlights from the seven permanent collection galleries. Free with museum admission. Reservations suggested.
