1. A Day with Stephanie Brody-Lederman 

On Saturday, it's possible to spend an entire day immersed in the work of artist Stephanie Brody-Lederman. On Saturday at 11:30 a.m., Guild Hall Museum Director / Chief Curator Christina Strassfield joins Brody-Lederman to discuss her art and solo show, "Dancing with Truffaut", on view at the museum's Spiga Gallery through January 3, 2016. The exhibition is the prize for winning Top Honors at Guild Hall's 2013 Artists Members Exhibition. Later that evening, a solo show by Brody-Lederman opens at Sara Nightingale Gallery in Water Mill. "Out Gallivanting" has its Opening Reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The show is co-presented with guest curator Karyn Mannix.

2. "Of Mice and Men"

"Of Mice and Men" opens to the public this weekend at Bay Street Theater. The adaptation for stage of John Steinbeck’s novel, directed by Joe Minutillo, will be presented at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Performances continue through November 28, 2015. Performances may include talk backs exploring the play or Steinbeck's history in Sag Harbor and conditions of migrant workers on the East End during the Great Depression. Friday’s performance includes a Q&A session with the cast. The theater’s lobby also has information about the production process including images and sketches from the rehearsal process. The production is part of the Literature Live! that presents free performances of literature for students.

The cast features many Hamptons actors. The cast includes Preston Truman Boyd, Joe Pallister, Terry Brockbank, Josh Gladstone, Jon Kovach, J. Stephen Brantley, Georgia Warner, Sawyer Spielberg, William Sturek, and Chauncy Thomas.

3. Rising Star Piano Concert

The Southampton Cultural Center’s Rising Stars Piano Series presents classical pianist Hunter Noack on Saturday at 7 p.m. Noack will perform the themed program on Boyhood featuring works by Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Janacek and John Cage.

4. Chef’s Talk at Guild Hall

Guild Hall presents a lecture by Winston Lyons, the chef / owner of the East Hampton restaurant Winston’s Bar & Grill, on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The talk is part of an ongoing lecture series at Guild Hall inviting local experts to speak on their life, work and knowledge. Coffee and refreshments served.

A native of Jamaica, Winston Lyons developed a love for cooking while spending time in the kitchen with his grandma growing up. He attended culinary school in Jamaica and worked as a line cook in one of Jamaica’s most popular hotels, the Wyndham, before leaving for the United States, where he settled in East Hampton. He has worked at East Coast Oyster, Turtle Crossing, East Hampton Point and East Hampton Grill.

5. Art Quilt Talk & Exhibition Reception 

Textile artist Susan Schrott speaks about her work in a talk titled “Beyond Textiles: For the Love of the Imagination” at the Montauk Library on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.  as part of an Opening Reception held from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

A solo show of Schrott's art quilts will be exhibited in the library's Suzanne Koch Gosman Room, on the library's lower level. Schrott’s work frequently portrays strong, joyful women in quilts making use of hand-dyed fabrics, threadwork and embellishment.
