Plenty of art and cultural events are slated for this weekend on Long Island's East End. Halloween is a theme this weekend with a Halloween Costume Ball with the HooDoo Loungers at Bay Street Theater, the Edgar Allen Poe Festival in Riverhead and more.  Also on the list is a printmaking demo, talks and an exhibition opening. EAST HAMPTON

GUILD HALL - "Gallery Talk with Christina Strassfield" - Guild Hall Museum Director/Chief Curator Christina Strassfield gives an exhibition tour and insights into the work of Cornelia Foss on Monday at 12:30 p.m. A solo show of paintings by Cornelia Foss is exhibited through January 3, 2016. RIVERHEAD

EAST END ARTS - "Free Printmaking Demo With Visiting Artist Dan Welden" takes place on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Advance registration recommended at [email protected] or 631.369.2171. The event is located in the East End Arts Carriage House behind the EEA School, 141 E. Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901. www.eastendarts.org.

EDGAR ALLEN POE FESTIVAL takes place from Friday through Sunday at locations throughout Riverhead. Events include an Edgar Allan Poe Parade with Flash Mob to Michael Jackson's Thriller on Friday at 7 p.m.; trick or treating along Main Street on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; a re-imaging of the classic Orson Wells 1938 radio broadcast of The War of the Worlds on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Vail Leavitt Music Hall, a Halloween Party & Brunch at the Long Island Aquarium and more. Also expected is the staging of a one-act play and a talk on famous forensic cases and book signings by members of the Mystery Writers of America.  

SUFFOLK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY - “Book & Bottle with MaryLaura Lamont on Land, Sea, and Sky: The Artwork of Old Mastic” takes place on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The talk and slide presentation featuring artwork from the book is $5, free for members. SAG HARBOR

BAY STREET THEATER - “Halloween Costume Ball with the Hoodoo Loungers” takes place on Saturday at 8 p.m. The musical event includes a costume contest. Admission is $25.  Bay Street Theater is located at 1 Bay Street, Sag Harbor, NY 11963. www.baystreet.org.

CANIO’S BOOKS - “Literary Halloween Costume Party” takes place on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. Attendees are invited to dress as their favorite author, artist or literary character. The event is in celebration of Canio’s 35th Anniversary and includes refreshments, spirits and ghostly tales. The suggested donation is $35. SOUTHAMPTON CULTURAL CENTER - "An Evening of Cabaret with Karen Oberlin – Songs of Spheres and other autumnal wonders" takes place on Saturday at 7 p.m. General Admission is $35. WATER MILL

PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “Architectural Sessions: Haunting Housestakes place on Friday at 6 p.m. Host Maziar Behrooz and guests will discuss how a specific source of inspiration has “haunted” their practice. Guest panelists include John Zissovici, Viola Rouhani, AIA, Jee Won Kim, and James Merrell. Admission is $10, free for members, children and students.

“Guided Tour of the Permanent Collection” takes place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m. The docent-led tour features highlights from the seven permanent collection galleries. Free with museum admission. Reservations suggested.
