It's a big weekend for art in The Hamptons and the East End. Both art museums open new exhibitions this weekend. Guild Hall opens a quartet of new shows and a duo opens at The Parrish. On the North Fork, expect to find film screenings and an art auction featuring area artists. Meanwhile, there are exhibition openings, live music and more events to choose from this weekend on the Eastern End of Long Island.

BRIDGEHAMPTON

BRIDGEHAMPTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY - "Harvest Season Celebration" fundraiser takes place on Saturday  from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Galban Barn in Sagaponack. Tickets are $50 per person in advance and $65 the day of the event. ASHAWAGH HALL - The Artists of VJS Studio present a Group Show from October 23 to 25, 2015. GUILD HALL - Opening Reception on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. takes place for "Cornelia Foss"; "Dancing with Truffaut: Stephanie Brody-Lederman"; "Portraying Artists: Photographs by Walter Weissman" and "A Sense of Place: Selections from the Permanent Collection". LIVE THEATER SCREENING takes place on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the John Drew Theater at Guild Hall with National Theatre Live's screening of Shakespeare's Hamlet starring Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC’s SherlockThe Imitation Game, Frankenstein at the National Theatre). Directed by Lyndsey Turner (PoshChimerica) and produced by Sonia Friedman Productions. PECONIC LANDING - “Captured Live in HD: Giselle” performed by The Bolshoi Ballet from Moscow with original choreography by Yuri Grigorovich and music by Adolphe Adam screens at Peconic Landing on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Presented Pathe Live and BY Experience, the performance was filmed live in HD. Admission is $20. 

EAST END ARTS at PECONIC LANDING - “Screening and Discussion: Alive Inside” takes place on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Speaker Robin Lombardo will discuss the impact of music on memory. Admission is free. MONTAUK

“Guided Tour of the Permanent Collection” takes place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m. The docent-led tour features highlights from the seven permanent collection galleries. Free with museum admission. Reservations suggested.
