October means Hamptons museums wrap up their exhibitions that opened in summer and now move into fall. Some museums close for 2015 and others unveil their next set of exhibitions. Either way, consider a museum visit before the following exhibitions become Hamptons history.

Temporary Sculpture Installations at LongHouse Reserve

On view through October 10, 2015. LongHouse Reserve's grounds and permanent sculpture collection is open on Saturdays through October 24, 2015.

Each year, LongHouse Reserve installs new sculptures for the season, joining the hundreds of works on view. This is the final weekend to see the 2015 temporary artworks. They include sculptures by Kiki Smith, Takashi Soga, Grace Knowlton, Sui Jianguo and Ronald Bladen.

LongHouse remains open on Saturdays through October 24, 2015, when it closes for the 2015 season.

LongHouse Reserve is located at 133 Hands Creek Rd, East Hampton, NY 11937. Admission is $10. www.longhouse.org.

"Platform: Tara Donovan" at The Parrish Art Museum

On view through October 12, 2015

Three new works constructed from Slinky® toys by American artist Tara Donovan remain on view at The Parrish through October 12, 2015. Donovan is known for her ability to amplify the innate physical characteristics of everyday objects by transforming them into large-scale works of art.

For the museum's fourth Platform series, Donovan was invited to create new artwork that relates specifically to the museum infrastructure and environment and the works on view. Her art was installed in July 2015.

“Roy Lichtenstein: Between Sea and Sky” at Guild Hall

On view through October 12, 2015

Comprised of over 30 works from private lenders and the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation, the exhibition will include works from the 1960s-1990s. A collaboration between Guild Hall and the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation, Roy Lichtenstein: Between Sea and Sky celebrates the artist’s abiding relationship with the East End of New York and all that it inspired.

"Right On! The Lennon Years Photographs by Susan Wood 1968 – 1978" at The Mulford Farm Museum

On view through October 18, 2015

Right On! The Lennon Years, Photographs by Susan Wood 1968 – 1978" captures the decade through photographs of John Lennon and Yoko Ono plus movie stars, models, politicians and others who made the era memorable. Curated by Irish photographer Deirdre Brennan.

"Andreas Gursky: Landscapes" at The Parrish Art Museum

On view through October 18, 2015

"Andreas Gursky: Nature in Balance" focuses on some of Gursky's most enigmatic images of landscape, water, and architectural detail with a specific tie to the landscape tradition. All oversized in scale, the photography is installed across three of the museum's galleries.

"Elaine de Kooning Portrayed" at the Pollock-Krasner House & Study Center

On view through October 31, 2015.

Elaine de Kooning’s longstanding devotion to portraiture is the subject of a show at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC. A complimentary exhibition is presented at the Pollock-Krasner House & Study Center with portraiture by Elaine de Kooning rounded up by those made by fellow artists of Elaine, including a portrait made her husband, Willem de Kooning.
